    Why?!
He fought a man out of his preferred weight class, who's still a world class operator.
    And beat him.

Out of his preferred weight class? Who are you referring too? The fight was at 140 lbs unless I am mistaken.

Not to take anything away from Lazcano, but his best win was likely against a less than stellar Burton. Although clearly durable and a tough guy, there was certainly an expectation that Ricky would have a much better performance.

He looked weak, Lazcano was able to hurt him, and his fitness seemed to be an issue. It was an unspectacular performance to say the least. Particularly from a man who some would argue is a HOF'er.

I can live with a KO from Mayweather or Pac. Performances such as those are what diminish his status in my opinion.

Lazcano would have KO'd him on neutral turf. That was Ottke-like refereeing...

wtf? what do you base that on?

    you are just guessing

hatton won almost every round in from the judges, just because hatton didnt look exciting doing it doesnt take anything from the win. after all look at mayweathers fights

I didn't read all the posts but anybody mention the lazcano fight where Ricky was getting his handed to him? Lazcano had hatton out on his feet, against the ropes and not returning punches, and the ref steps in and stops the action so rickys corner can tie his shoe. Home cookin!!! And the collazo fight, I had a draw. Ricky steam rolled everyone except those those two fighters and pac and mayweather. Ricky at his best was a B+ fighter with A+ heart and C+ skillz. I like the guy. Very exciting.

I think he will be remembered well, although i agree in the Uk it will be stronger than in the states. He is a hard little fighter who always makes it a good night. The Pac fight is his only really bad night.Although he lost to floyd it was nothing like as bad as what happened against Manny.

Excuse me but no, that is pure fanboy bollocks. Tyson had more boxing skill hanging from his foreskin than Hatton could ever dream of possessing. Tyson slipped punches masterfully, Hatton blocked them with his face.
He was a pretty good fighter who made a career of beating fighters whom he had a size advantage over and was the beneficiary of plenty of lax refereeing. When he took on fighters his own size he struggled badly.
He was good, he wasn't great or brillliant.

Maybe to sun readers and football hooligans, to boxing fans......um, no.
