While I understand your points, I actually had Hatton winning against Collazzo, even though it was an extremely close fight. The Lazcano thing was a joke and he was very lucky in that case. I'm just trying to give Hatton some respect. I feel, regardless of my distaste for his style, he has earned it. But fact is, he was only beaten by the 2 best of his era, albeit it convincingly and spectacularly, respectively.

On a side note which I wanted to mention earlier, the Mini Tyson comparison is way off base. Tyson was a universally feared force. Even when it was clear he was shot I still wondered if he would suddenly just beast out on a guy.....even though it never happened. Aside from that, Tyson was much harder to hit due to the peekaboo and while he did like fighting on the inside(the only real similarity), he didn't turn it into a wrestling match nearly as much.

minimum wage son, try again. You don't have to be posh to be disdainful of thick knuckle heads-which you'd certainly have to be to consider Hatton an atg.

Ok then, most of the guys who packed out the MEN way back when were knowlegdable boxing fans, they weren't Man city supporters who couldn't name ten active boxers to save their lives. I take it back.

As a good fighter that when faced with advertisty (losing) showed that he was not dedicated to the sport or his own career (by blowing up between fights)

Exciting brawler and a likeable chap who was ****ing famous in the UK.
Never quite made it to the very highest level but how many do ?
Defineatly should have looked after himself better weight-wise , i don't think he would have beaten Mayweather or Pac either way but he didnt give himself the best chance he could which is sad.
I ****in love Ricky Hatton, my knid of fighter and probably top 15 British boxers of all time.

I like Hatton as well, but off the top of my head 15 seems high! keep in mind that I am not a British expert, so I posted a similar question in the classic forum..the early choice seems to be MAYBE top 30! but he remains one of my favs either way!

Sorry last time i went to a Hatton fight i dont rememeber anyone getting asked to name ten active boxers before they went in. Also since when did only boxing purists go to fight. Sheeeesh.

Fat? Only in between fights. He trained like a maniac in camp.

Boorish? I had the pleasure of meeting Hatton twice in public, and he was anything but. A fantastic ambassador for the sport, he spent time chatting knowledgably about the sport, and was respectful and polite in equal measure.

Lazy? You don't get to become a World Champ by being lazy.

You want to get your brain in gear before you post **** like that on this thread. Idiot.

As a man who could dance when he wanted to and who could leave his friends behind.

Also known as a good fighter who's popularity was double his actual skill level.
