Hatton to me will always be an average fighter overrated by his following. He has a large contigent of fans primarily because of his personality outside of the ring. Inside of the ring, aside from his wins against a washed up Tszyu and Castillo, he had ok wins against C level fighters like Malignaggi, Urango, and Maussa and struggled against B level fighters like Collazo and Lazcano. He was very overrated and had an inflated record because of the level of competition he faced overseas. I never thought he had a chance against Mayweather or Pac and feel he would have suffered the same fate against guys like Mosley, Cotto, and even Bradley now.

History will remember the hitman as "Ricky Fatton", unfortunately.

I agree with much of this, but the only guys he lost to are the top 2 guys of his era. He beat all the others, questionably in some cases, convincingly in others. But the same can be said for any fighter.

His style could never be considered pretty, but he more than made due with what he had. He probably wouldn't have gotten so far if his wrestle tactics hadn't been overlooked for so long, but regardless, the guy accomplished a good amount in his career and never shied away from the big, tough fights.

    Oh.

When appropriate, yes. Most of the time, no.

No, not really. I take it you read the sun?
