He's always done that. You think they were calling him Ricky Fatton for nothing? This is why he has deteriorated as a fighter. Riddick Bowe did the same thing and look how he ended up. It doesn't take an expert to figure out that dramatic weight fluctuations inbetween fights will eventually catch up with you. Hatton should seriously consider retirement or just go fight on the Juan Lazcano circuit, which isn't even safe for him considering the fact that Hatton was hurt in that fight too.
This is sad to see. Ricky is one of few modern british fighters that I like. And I am one of few who think that his career doesn't have to be over yet - I mean he lost to two men who are among the top5 P4P fighters in the game, and yes he got utterly destroyed by one of these two, but such things have happened to other fighters. He's beaten Paulie Malignaggi in between. There's no question he's past his best, but he should have taken a couple smaller fights in the UK against B-level guys now to see what he really has got left, and to built up his confidence. I don't want to see Ricky end his career like that, by getting destroyed by the Pacman (who I respect a lot). But it seems that the Hitman has given up now, even if letting himself go in between fights has been a bad habit of him...
