I'm tired of everyone say Ricky had a bad chin. How on earth could he have a bad chin and get to level he was at? His mauling pressure swarming style would have been suicide if he had a glass jaw. Ricky didn't really bob and weave either, he came straight forward to get on the inside and mug you. He came in face first using his chin as defense. He always ended up eating shots on the way in from respected punchers like kosta tszyu. Although Tszyu was past it he still had his punching power, they say thats the last thing to leave a fighter. Ricky took bombs and kept coming thats why he was so entertaining and exiting to watch. Up until the mayweather fight his chin was solid he moved up to WW. Ricky got frustrated in that fight, which caused him to come in really open, (even for Ricky) Floyd kept cool and kept hitting him with that lead right hand and clinching. If ricky did get on the inside Cortez immediately broke them up. He charged in and got caught with the check left hook in the 10th that sent him crashing in to the ring post. I often wonder if it was more the punch or the ring post that rocked ricky. In anycase I am not taking anything away from Floyd he would of still beat Ricky. Ricky was never the same after the fight. Then gets put on ***** street by Juan Lazcano! Hires Mayweather sr as new coach, looked good in the malignaggi fight and then got another chance to be pound for pound king. Fought Manny Pacquiao at JWW and was decimated in two rounds. Ricky came in with his hands low and ran in at pac man which was a big mistake and got hit with shots he didnt see coming (especially the last one) He went up against the 2 best of the era and came up short, I dont understand why everyone hates on him for that. Now he's making a comeback after a three year hiatus in which he ballooned up and became a drug addict. Now he appears much more fit and healthy but he's not taking any easy tune ups he's jumping in to a fight with Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21 KO). I have always been a fan and i'm glad he's cleaned up and gotten fit again but I dont want to see him get hurt. He says he's doing it for redemption rather than a paycheck which is noble however I wouldnt want to see him tarnish his legacy. I'll support the hitman as always and I wish him the best:bbb
Are you being biased? To me, Hatton clinched when he felt hurt. And when he didnt clinch, he got KO'd.
First a damn place, there is only one Hit Man. And he would have decapitated Ricky Hatton and any of Ricky Hatton's opponents at any weight. ...now carry on.
