I don't give a damn about the WBU. It's neither here nor there. However, I respect Hatton because he went for the top dog in the division and beat him, rather than winning and hiding behind a paper title.

When you talk about fights that should be made, Hatton gave us Mayweather, Pacquiao, Tszyu, Castillo and Malignaggi. In addition to other decent fights like Tackie, Collazo, Urango and Lazcano. I don't think anyone is going to get too worked up over another champ-for-a-day type.

If Witter had really wanted the fight then he should have taken the fight with Eamonn Magee that he was offered on the Hatton-Phillips undercard with a view to the winner facing Hatton. Instead, Witter swerved it and was never considered again.
