I know both Tyson and Holyfield really respected him Was he really that good? is there any good fights of his that i could watch? Ive read a couple of articles which say he had some talent but serious mental issues as well like Ike?
He was a great amateur. His fights with Holyfield in the amateurs were legendary and extremely close. Everybody was scared of him. He even made Holyfield cry in the locker room. Think about that. As tough a nut as Evander was and as mentally strong, and Womack made him cry. IN THE LOCKER ROOM.
I actually read about that, he stepped on holyfields toe, what a bad ass mother****er this guy was. Apparently him and tyson were roomates, i would love to know how that went down with 2 nutjobs together in one room (no homo)
Quality amateur but, as you say, a bit of a nutjob outside the ring. Manny Steward took him in and i believe he even lived at Manny's home for a while. Didn't he shoot someone in an armed robbery gone wrong or something like that?
I remember seeing him on the Hagler-Hearns undercard and was not impressed. Physically the guy looked amazing and his scowl was frightening. It made me expect big things. He didn't deliver unfortunately. I understand he met a tragic end.
His amateur fights with Holyfield are really fun wars. The guy was seriously strong. Ass beater type.
Total nutcase and an ungrateful *******. Steward gave him a place to live, a car (which he wrote off...Steward replaced it). He had it all given to him yet still couldn't stop himself from committing a $200 armed robbery
yeah thats what i read, even he himself couldnt explain why he did that, apparently steward guaranteed him a £100,000 contract as well. Tyson used to commit robberies even after he turned por
