September 14th headlining @ the Verti Music Hall in Berlin. The vacant IBO super lightweight title will be at stake. Ponce is ranked #36 at 140lbs by the IBO, and Müller is their ranked #27 welterweight (as that is where he last fought). Likewise they are ranked #10 by the IBF at light welter & welter respectively; neither is ranked by any other major org.

Müller was last defeated in October 2016 by Jeff Horn (before he was known to global audiences) in an IBF eliminator, wherein The Hornet shut him out and stopped him in the 9th (Müller would claim he "didn't want to make any excuses" for the loss, but also cited a cut over his eye and "feeling the need to defecate" for a bulk of the match as factors...). Since then his dream fight has been a domestic clash with Jack Culcay, repeatedly calling him out in German media to no avail. He was the IBO's Intercontinental champion from 2012 until 2015. Basic, decent, cookie-cutter German boxer, trained by former EBU welterweight champ Michael Trabant.

"Jere Mármol" Ponce is professionally undefeated but has just once ventured beyond the Argentinian domestic border (a visit to Mexico to defeat Italian super lightweight champion Francesco Lomasto), and has never boxed outside the western hemisphere. His accolades include the South American, Argentinian & IBF Intercontinental 140lbs titles, and the WBA Fedebol 147lbs title. He is a vicious body puncher, but not very difficult to find with counters, and has a bit too much of a penchant for moderately dirty fighting (particularly headbutts).

Most recent footage of Müller is his first match with Bethuel Ushona of Namibia last December:

I think Mármol can stop him - and will need to. If this goes twelve, Pretty Boy has this alles eingepackt.
