    Which broadcast did you see?

The American commentators definitely thought it was a quick stoppage.

Not sure anyone mentioned it but I felt a bit sad to see Bowe so messed up in that video. This guy lost all his money, probably all his friends and definitely every last of his brain cells due to dementia pugilistica.

Terrible to see. This is our sport gentlemen; we enjoy watching men destroy eachother. Then, when they're old and punchdrunk, we make fun of them. This is sickening and yes, I am including myself here in the hall of shame.

Of course they did. They are American commentating on an American fighter losing a Gold Medal match in the Olympic Final - just hours after American fighter RJJ got robbed.

    Let's get some perspective here.

That being said, I do think it could've gone on. But I say that as a fan of pro boxing. Amateurs is different.

100%. Makes me very sad to see how it's all turned out for Bowe. Fighters should be much better taken are of - ie, have mandatory pension funds.

OK. I can concede that maybe it's impossible for an American commentator to be objective. I don't think it's true in this case, but it's a valid fact that the commentators and losing boxer were all Americans.

He was jumping about with his arms up in the air to show he was able to continue. It was a corrupt stoppage at a very anti- American Olympic games.
The Roy Jones decision was one of the biggest travesties in the sport

Of course, they were rooting for Bowe weren't they? I don't blame them. You can argue whether the stoppage was early or not but in amateur boxing you see a lot of stoppages like that. But that wasn't even my point, I just wanted to point out that the ref wasn't helping Lewis at all otherwise he could have warned Bowe for his dirty actions many times

I'm a Brit, and our commentators are just the same. It was a massive shock when I heard the American commentary over Lewis fights for the first time. A totally different perspective. To hear Larry Merchant, for example, accuse Lewis of usually being a "pvssy cat" after to KO'ing Golota. WTF?

But that's all life is, really. We all see the world through our own biased sunglasses. The sooner we realise that and appreciate that all others are doing the same better off we all are.

Lennox Lewis was without doubt the best HW Champ since Muhammad Ali
Lennox had one glaring fault he tended to fight to the level of his opposition.
Hence his 2 losses to McCall & Rahman. He didn't take either seriously & paid the price. Made no mistake in the rematches did he LOL ?? The KO pic of Rahman wearing Don King crown is a classic
Lennox had Bowe's number both Bowe & Newman knew it too Basically Bowe self imploded after the Holyfield fights . Who of any consequence did he really beat after that?????

OK I'll be the first to admit Roy Jones je really got the shaft in Seoul. that robbery was criminal BUT Not getting the gold helped his career far more than if he'd got the GOLD!!
He made his career out of that He refused to fight outside the US & some of his opponents in what were called title defences included Postmen , School teachers, Police Officers & even a garbage collector
He was GOOD but NOT GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

Classic Bowe moves. On the one hand I wish Golota had kept his cool and won the damn fight. On the other, every time he played pinball with Bowe's nuts I cheered :bbb Karma is a bitc h
