For the rematch I agree, although Golota was ahead by a lot, he was suffering a lot with that nasty cut and took some bombs himself. Maybe that big right Bowe landed in the corner during the 9th gave Golota the extra "motivation" for Golota to pull a Golota.

But in the first fight, Bowe was just getting the **** kicked out of him. He wasn't landing heavy shots in return, and Golota wasn't cut and didn't appear to be tired either. He was just a headcase

 

That's just not true. Golota didn't decide to foul out because he was trying to catch a late night movie with his wife, he fouled out because he couldnt get Bowe to concede. Golota always quit when his opponents showed resistance even when he was far ahead and he was but Bowe wasn't quitting and he was fighting back. That's when Golota always melted down.

What does tyson have to do with this? To be clear that's not true either. See ruddock Ribalta thomas tubbs Tucker douglas and so on. Tyson was clearly not of fighters mind when he emerged from prison but he sure was prior to going in

He quit fighting against Douglas, Holy, Lewis, Williams and McBride. Oh, he took his punishment well enough, but he definitely quit fighting.

Like I said he quit " fighting " against Douglas, just walked in, got hit, stepped back, walked in again, got hit, rinse and repeat. Well whoopdee doo he threw one meaningful punch in the 8th.

I already said in the previous post his courage in taking his beatings is without question, but the guy was a mental midget, and as a lot of self appointed experts on ESB will never tire of telling you. Fighting is 80% mental and 20% physical.

Also, Golota was a frighteningly ordinary fighter. It is just shocking that he would give this phenom that was Bowe such trouble. In the end, Bowe just wasn't proven quite enough to get such high accolades.

 

Golota tattooed Bowe for good. If that crazy Pole could have kept his head together better, he would have won both encounters with ease, without fouling. Alas.

I don't rate Bowe all that highly at all.

Golota fought Bowe and didn't have an easy time with him in any way shape or form.

He quit because he gave it everything he had and Bowe was still there in front of him coming on stronger and stronger.
So in what alternate reality could he have beaten him 'with ease' ?

Golota clearly had an above average skill-set and was a well rounded boxer with a hall of fame trainer in his corner.
