rid**** bowe is maybe the best hw h2h!!!

Ya I remember that fight between Bowe and Lewis, what a classic.... oh wait, that was in my dreams, because Bowe ducked him as blatantly as any duck I've ever witnessed.

 

You could say the same for Joe Frazier.

Bowe looked like a world beater in the 3 Holyfield fights alone.

He lost the second but who knows how it would have went if it wasn't for fan man.

Holyfield was incredible in the rematch. As perfect a fighter as you could get. Never in the same spot for longer than mere seconds. A piston jab that never stopped pumping. Extra dimensional lateral movement - always countering.
The fight was still razor close. One judge having it a draw.

Not many HWs in existence could have dealt with Holyfield of those first two fights.

 

Bowe was great to watch, but something isnt right when such a big man gets known mostly for his inside fighting. Take the first Holyfield fight, his finest hour, you had a massive guy with a huge reach advantage who for some reason choose to slug it out on the inside. It made for a great fight, but he gave Holyfield a shot by inviting him in and allowing the smaller man to hit him.

 

Coetzer had a chin even Foreman could not crack. Both men had to change up the attack and go downstairs to get rid of him.

Coetzer was already gone before he complained about a low blow.

Bowe had dished out a one sided leathering. That was a great performance from Bowe. It wasn't defined by any low blow.

 

Do you have any magical scorecards where Coetzer was ahead?

 

Trying to keep it long against Holyfield is what got Douglas carried out of the ring on a stretcher.

Throwing long shots is giving him the openings he looks for.

 

That's not the point. The point is they were legally obligated to fight after Bowe beat Holyfield and Lewis destroyed Ruddock and instead of a fight taking place a ceremonial dumping of the belt took place. If Bowe was so sure he could win, why didn't that fight happen. Look what it would have done for his legacy if he'd have won, he would have a prime Holyfield and a prime Lewis as wins and we'd be talking about him as an ATG, instead he's become an afterthought.

 

Im not taking anything from Frazier , but a lot of those world class guys were non heavyweights . Like Jimmy Ellis who was a Middle Weight when he went pro.

 

He's top ten for me.

 

I don't see it to be honest.

I look at him and I see a lot of high quality components, put together in a fairly illogical order.

I also think that he left some questions unanswered.
