Riddick Bowe could have been a top 3 ATG.

I think Bowe at his best, especially in the 90s, would've beaten every HW out there.. Tyson, Moorer, Lewis, Mercer.. he would've taken them all out.

There really isn't many fighters in boxing, and especially in the HW division that were as complete as Bowe.. stamina, size, strength, heart, will.

That might've been believable if he didn't so blatantly duck Lewis. I was more impressed with Bowe than any other HW in recent times aside from Tyson, but style-wise Lewis might've been the one to do him in, and he probably knew this.

BTW, I was saying him defeating most of those fighters would've been believable, not the top 3 ATG part.

    I don't know about that.

Bowe was very good, but his defense was poor. He seemed to have a good chin, but it's not like he faced a lot of big punchers.

He faced Herbie Hide, a puncher, and was hurt whenever Hide caught him clean. Andrew Golota was a good puncher, and dropped and hurt Bowe several times.

Makes you wonder what would've happened if he, or his management, was willing to fight Lennox Lewis.

Bowe ducking Lewis the way he did makes him look really bad, I agree.. but nevertheless I'd still favor Bowe to stop Lewis especially at that point and time.

Why's it so unbelieveable that he could've been a top 3 ATG? Especially when you compare his skills to fighters of the past that are so highly regarded. I'd pick Bowe to beat Ali, Foreman, and Frazier any day of the week.

Lewis had the beating of him and Bowe knew it.

His defense wasn't that bad.. it wasn't his best asset but it's not like it was a handicap.

Bowe was kept away from punchers for a reason. He'd have thoroughly outboxed Foreman barring a big shot, which is very possible, but Frazier would be the one to stop him IMO, given that a lot of the fight would take place on the inside, where Bowe is at his best but most vulnerable defensively. Tyson as well would've KO'd him.

I Liked Bowes Style..very Fan Friendly..but Top 3 Atg Is Pushing It...bowe Was A Great Fighter In The 1990's...if He Would Have Kept In Shape He Woulda Been An Even Better Fighter Than He Was

I'd pick Bowe to stop Frazier by the middle rounds. A 90s Tyson especially would get KTFO, imo. As for Foreman I think Bowe could possibly stop him on accumalation by the late rounds.. Bowe's excellent offense would be too much for someone like Foreman to take especially with such a leaky defense.

If he beat Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield near or around their primes, along with complete clean out of the HW's for a decade, he warrants a top 15 ranking.

Nonsense. He beat Holyfield 2/3 and got the worse of it than the older Holyfield. Otherwise he was very inconsistent past a certain point and his prime wasn't long enough to achieve that status.

Frazier would be terrible for Bowe.

No. Bowe would have definitely lost twice to Golota if Golota didn't refuse to allow himself to win.

Bowe had poor defense and not great ring IQ either. Holyfield was tailormade for him and still lost 1 out of 3. Boxer movers beat him because he didn't fight enough on the outside, and good/great punchers kill him because he takes too many hard shots.

If Bowe is top 3, then Golota is top 2.
