I believe Gonzalez beat Bowe twice in the amatuers and yes he beat him worse than Lewis did, but Bowe was not near the fighter he became and the meeting in the pros was a demolition by Bowe that ruined Gonzalez' career and proof of the difference between pros and amatuers. So much was made of Lewis beating Bowe in the olympics but Gonzalez knocked Bowe out and beat him twice so mentally Bowe should have been more scared of Gonzalez. Bowe would have killed Lewis had they fought after he faced Holyfield and if he came in the same condition he did as the first Holyfield fight.
McCall would have KOd all of them : Bowe , Lewis and Gonzales . Incidentally , he stopped Lewis in d pros and d only thing that prevented it from being a KO was that referee whom stood between Lewis and d floor :yep McCall also KOd Akinwande whom floored Lewis in d pros and Maskaev whom stopped Miroschnichenko in his (Maskaev's) debut and Miroschnichenko actually beat Bowe as bad as Lewis did only 2b robbed of d victory by d judges whereas Lewis was awarded a somewhat of a gift stoppage over Bowe . McCall was d man of that era .
It wasnt easy for Bruno though. His stamina sucked and Mcall still couldnt get the job done. Mcall was realistically as bad as Bonecrusher Smith just a little less creative.
McCall could only beat Lewis , Akinwande and Maskaev , it's sach e sheim Rock Newman did not want 2 pad Bowe's record with Iron Maik's sparing partner's name :yep
As d short footage in d opening post shows , it only teiks 1 rait hend 2 put Bowe ewei . McCall had e better rait hend , better stamina and a better ability 2 teik a panch . And he proved it all .
Riddick grew into his chin more then he grew into anything else. He had some trouble taking punches as a young man, believe you me. It got much better when he was fully grown and stable on his feet. Still wild, though, and that meant he could be outboxed, even at his best.
Bowe absolutely destroyed Gonzalez though in the pros. What a beast. If Gonzalez was such a good amateur didnt he know well enough to develop more technically as a pro? Lack of dedication I guess. Bowe literally beat the sh*t out of Gonzalez
Yes one of my all time favorites to watch. Watching that giant timber like a tree falling over after the load of sh*t he talked prior to the fight must of mentally killed the guy. Bowe did a number on Gonzo and looked great in the process. Too bad he couldnt sustain his dedication because he really was focused and well trained for that fight. I think he would have approached Lewis the same way, but he took the lazy route facing two washed up guys after Holyfield. I guess we can blame Mercer for showing up in **** poor shape and losing to Ferguson. Mercer on Bowes record would have been a nice scalp for his legacy.
he only beat bowe 1 time.......but he did beat bowe and lewis on the same nite..........but gonzales nver fought bowe 2x as an amatuer
