A 19XX XXXX would stopped Wladimir and decisioned Vitali, but this is 2012.

replace the xxxx with a former american HW champion of the past in his prime years, and you get the same old' BS story that has become a trend on this site.
Americans and especially butthurt brittards would always pick the former american champion regardless of the stylistic matchup and the advantages and disadvantages he will posses against a Klit.
They know only 2 things, and that's Wlad has a glass jaw, Vitali has no heart, and that they will lose to any great HW of the past.

The few that voted for Bowe don't really think he will win, but voted for him because of the stupidity of this fight even being considered.

And of course there are those who vote against the Klitschko's regardless of the poll :-(

There is no telling how great Riddick Bowe could have been if he had had a work ethic. He was a huge, strong heavyweight who could knock you out with either hand. He and his team avoided Lennox Lewis like the plaque. Rock Newman wanted no part of Lewis against his fighter Bowe.
As a champion Bowe was crushing everybody until he got into a low blow hitting contest with the foul Pole Andrew Golota.
The great boxing trainer Eddie Futch trained Bowe from the time he turned professional until after he became a world champion.
Futch's first fighter was a featherweight boxer who boxed in the 1940's named Luther Burgess. Burgess was training Keith McKnight, a boxer that I managed during the same time Futch was working with Bowe. Our team worked with Buster Mathis Jr to help him get ready for his fight against Bowe. I was at ringside while Bowe used every dirty trick in the book, which he didn't need to do against Mathis, he would beaten him anyway.
Burgess said that Futch walked away because Bowe wouldn't train.
Bowe tried a comeback several years ago and looked horrible against ordinary fighters. When the skill is gone, the thrill is gone. And as BB King says in the song "It's gone away for good baby." Bowe had his day, but his day is done. Sad but true.

The Klitschkostans would be claiming this as a crowing achievement if one of the Bros fights him because Lewis never did and they would knock him out worse than Lewis did in the Olympics.

I think the absurdity of this even being mentioned has contributed towards Bowe getting votes when we all know deep down that if Bowe came back to fight either Klitschko unless he's allowed to use a pistol he has no shot.

And yes there are haters but obsessed Klitschko fans are once again conflating haters with real boxing fans.

That's not true, Riddick Bowe ranks pretty high on H2H lists and has tools and style capable of beating both Klitschko brothers. Not every American HW could have done the same but Bowe could have and that's why I picked him.

Bowe isn't overrated in terms of legacy; on the contrary he's rated pretty fairly. His head to head ability exceeds his actual legacy. He ducked Lewis for sure, although it should be noted that Rock Neuman did give Lennox an offer which was declined. The other thing is that Lewis did have an opportunity to fight Bowe but he squandered it by losing to McCall. And later in 1996 Bowe's camp finally came to terms with the fight but the Golota "wins" sidetracked Bowe for good. This is why Lewis faced Golota in 1997; it was supposed to have been against Bowe.

Right now the Klitchkos are so far above anyone else that Bowe probbly wouldn't fare any worse than anyone else.
A prime Bowe would beat both.
