Riddick Bowe says Lennox Lewis is the one who ducked him

Its no coincidence that the only top guy in his absolute peak Lewis ever fought was Vitali in 2003.

Lewis knew how to tactically swerve threats and no better example was Bowe.

If that fight happened in 93 you would have seen Lewis get beaten from pillar to post. Lewis knew it . Frank knew it and King knew it.

Bowe wanted absolutely no part of Lewis. That right hand in the Olympics must have given him nightmares for years. Lewis crashed the practice room of the American team at Seoul and told Bowe face to face that he would knock him out if they fought, and that's exactly what he did. You could just tell Bowe was the intimidated one in their ringside confrontation after Holyfield 1.

 

So why did Bowe chuck his belt in the trash when Lewis was his mando?

 

There's absolutely no chance that Lewis was ducking Bowe. If anyone was doing the ducking then it was Bowe.

 

Lennox has the better career. When a person who is not as great as the other says someone ducked them I ignore it. To become great you did more than the other guy did, and Lennox is greater than Bowe and would have probably beaten him with that big right.

Yeah, I blame the managers and backstage politics for this bout not going down. Lewis was to blame almost as much as Bowe was.

Bowe looked bad for trashing the faux WBC belt. It was a managerial misstep by Newman for showing that he wasn't going to be dictated by Don King and the WBC. Newman tried to be heroic and it backfired.

I'm pretty sure Lennox and his team could've done more in this situation. But they chose to side with King and the WBC.

 

George Foreman called out Bowe. Bowe agreed and then found away to back out ot if. I believe Bowe did duck Lewis for whatever reason.
