Bowe would outwork Joyce like he did Gonzalez and Jalolov hasn't done anything. Success in the ametures doesn't mean everything. Gonzalez is a perfect example of this

He does beat pre Steward Lewis but prime Lewis beats him imo

I still think the Gonzalez win was a really good one for Bowe. The man was undefeated and a good contender. No, he wasn't anywhere near what he was in the amateurs but still..

Bowe's biggest win by far was over a prime and hot Holyfield, of course. But I can't just dismiss the wins over Holy III (no excuses, Holy chose to be there), Hide, and Gonzalez. He probably would have been mowed over by Lewis at that time, sure.

He was undefeated, had a great ameture background and was a large SHW contender. It's possible Bowe destroyed his self confidence which is why he lost against a lot of guys after loosing to Bowe

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bowe ruined him.

You can see, though, how far Bowe had fallen even in that fight. He wasn't clumsy like that when he fought Holy one, or even during his titular defenses. He wasn't boxing with that kind of skill. He basically just brutalized Gonzalez, same with Hide and Holy III.

I agree Bowe was shot at this juncture.

1992-1993 Bowe starches Golota with booming right hands.

Golota wouldn't have made it 3 rounds.

Absolutely Bowe who was in shape & did not suffer repeated vicious fouls clearly wins.
Hell even after being weight drained, losing coordination & muscle mass he would have won without the low blows.

Bowe was great at his peak.
