Joshua would destroy Bowe, who was a walking contradiction, party truth and partly fiction.

Bowe was a good fighter, but they steered him clear of big punchers for a reason.

Even though I love the "Taxi Driver"/ Kris Kristofferson reference, i think Bowe is substantially better than fighters like Dilian Whyte, and what was left of Wlad at age 40. And, they both came close to stopping Joshua. A prime and hungry Bowe would not let AJ off the hook. And, Bowe's pressure and pace would make Joshua seriously gassed.

Bowe has ONE razor close decision loss on his record against a ATG who he almost Ko'ed in the first one and flattened in the third......the same Holyfield Lewis danced with for 24.

Bowe had a very short prime but when he was on with Futch in his corner he is a very dangerous opponent for ANY Heavy , past and present.

AJ does not fight tall, has no head movement, has a stiff upper body and likes to trade up close with hooks..............Bowe would have a field day with him and the pace already would cause AJ severe problems, Bowe is much more fluid outside or inside, probably the best Superheavy on the inside, period.

The current AJ is the best AJ you ever going to see, there aint no improvement, he is the finished product.

AJ does not have the ring smarts or boxing IQ to turn it into a chess match......he will fall right into Bowe's trap of fighting not boxing and his questionable chin/stamina will be his undoing.......Bowe will pressure him like nobody has ever pressured him before.

Bowes lack of longevity leaves him underrated. This is a good match up. As an unbeaten fighter we don't know how good AJ is , but he's certainly not fought anybody nearly as good as Bowe at this point. I will sit on the fence on this one but would pick Bowe if I really was forced to choose.

Bowe would whip that boy so hard, he'd be chewing on Femi's bones weeks later from his bedroom fridge.

Bowe was wide open and avoided all the divisions big hitters, how does he absorb Joshua's power when someone like Golota hurt and dropped him, this seems like a mismatch in favor of Joshua.

Bowe made his reputation fighting Holyfield, a guy 35 pounds lighter than Joshua who isn't close to being the puncher Joshua is.

Bowe vs Breazeale would be a better matchup

Mismatch is a pretty strong word

    verb
    /misˈmaCH/
    1. 1.
match (people or things) unsuitably or incorrectly.
      "funky mismatched chairs and tables"
synonyms: ill-assorted, ill-matched, incongruous, unsuited, incompatible, inconsistent, at odds

How is Bowe with his leaky defense and so so chin going to come out on top with a stronger bigger harder puncher like Joshua? Joshua has faced decent punchers and had his chin tested at a higher level.

Joshua still a work in progress. Bowe was more skilled and just as strong. His prime was so short

I honestly think that barring some unexpected events, we've seen the best of AJ.

At this point, Bowe wins. However, the judgement is still out on Joshua. I disagree with those saying that Joshua had a better defense than Bowe.

Joshua got rocked by Povetkin and Whyte, and barely beat a count after Wlad hit him with a right hand. The only reason he didn't get stopped is because Wlad is one of the worst finishers of hw champs.
Bowe defense has more variety, better head movement and countering.
Bowe has a better jab and inside game, plus stamina and a higher workrate thus.
Joshua couldn’t finish Wlad K and badly gassed. Bowe was very hard to finish and once he hurt you he is all over you.
Look how Bowe attacked Holyfield in the 10th round after that that legendary uppercut, so imagine how relentless he would be if he hurts Joshua early or mid rounds.
