Riddick Bowe vs Billy Conn

btw, it would have been billy conn's birthday today! he was a great fighter!

 

I’d favor Bowe to stop Conn at some point given that Billy would be overwhelmed physically. But I think Conn could frustrate him for a while. Bowe wasn’t great at cutting off the ring and was much slower than Billy.

 

This makes a lot of sense.

In reality, the size disrepancies often have their effect later in the fight, while fantasy land is full of first round blow outs.

 

To be clear I don’t think that size is everything. But It tends to be a deciding factor when you have a great big man vs a great smaller man in many ( but not all ) cases
