Meh. Maybe. I'm not sure how much I fancy Bowe's defence and chin against Foreman's big shots though.
I would agree with you but i think Foreman's punching power, wasn't quite what it was in his last few fights. As as evident by fighters like Grimsley, Savarese, taking him the distance and remember he was nearing 50 years old. I still think Bowe had enough left to get the job done. He heavily underestimated Golota and paid for it, then was finished as a fighter in the rematch with the punishment he took whilst being weight drained. I think the difference is Bowe would be fully motivated vs Foreman, and would be able to win a decision. There might be a few rough moments along the way, but i still believe Bowe could pull it out.
Bowe by 96 had severe brain damage and extremely unhealthy yo-yo dieting ruined his boxing skills. George might've been a dinosaur but he still had all his faculties remaining and a good left jab. I think that would be enough to outpoint Bowe.
I would actually argue before the low blows in the 2nd fight, Bowe was actually winning against Golota
From memory the fight was incredibly exciting in the first 4 rounds, Bowe did have Golota in trouble in the 4th round. Then Golota did low blow him numerous times, which did halt Bowe's momentum. And from that point on Golota beat up Bowe. Bowe was weight drained and appeared gaunt and too slim, from losing weight too quickly and he didn't appear very strong despite some moments of bravery. Overall with all the point deductions in the fight, it was probably still in the balance on the scorecards.
