My goodness, did Bowe look horrible in this fight or what? Bowe showed absolutely no defense so Hide seemingly landed at will. Unfortunately Hide looked and fought scared so he buckled immediately after feeling Bowe's power. Riddick was throwing wide and wild shots with no poise or technique at all. He also looked incredibly uncoordinated -- sluggish and lifeless. It's crazy how fast Bowe slid down the totem pole, skill wise.

A bizarre fight to say the least.

He actually looked sigificantly better against Rodriguez in his next fight. But yeah, he was sloppy and at times a bit uncoordinated-looking.

I don't see it as a "worse", simply far away from his peak night Holy I.

I always thought Michael Spinks' bozo performance against Holmes I was less impressive. The guy at times looked like he had epilepsy or something.

Bowe was so overrated by a single win over a PEDs cheat cruiserweight ( I don't even count the post heart-attack one). Even medium punchers like Holy, Hide and Golota made Bowe look awful. No wonder he threw a belt in the trash rather than fight Lennox.

Gonna have to disagree, he beat Hide's ass and knocked him down like 10 times and stopped him. If he looked bad it's because he knew a half-assed effort was more than enough, and it was. The gym bully Hide is one of the worst "champs" in hw history.

This has nothing on Bute vs. Andrade I, Jones vs. Tarver I, Mares vs. Agbeko at all in terms of worst winning performances. Hide was getting discombobulated by every stiff jab Bowe landed. I doubt Bowe trained that hard for this one.

You obviously have not seen many fights if you think that is one of the worst. There are literally 100`s that are more worthy of that title

Seriously -you think it was the worst performance by a winner ever? He was not flawless but he conclusively took apart a fast moving, hard hitting opponent in a few rounds.

Pretty sure I read once that Bowe said Hide was one of the hardest punches he faced, just as an aside

Hide expended his 12 round gas tank in the first 3 rounds by running all the place and throwing hayemakers with blinding speed.

Going all out like that would make anybody look bad especially a slow starter like Bowe. It was only the 3rd round when Bowes jab starting hitting Herbies head ,while he was prancing around the ring.
Ali struggled with Euro leveler / ring runner Mildenburger. Bowe found Hide a lot faster

Hide was pretty good at the time but Bowe was always levels ahead of him even if it was an undisciplined version of him, whom Bowe didn't mind taking big shots which was his downfall, as Bowe was always going to break him down as he was that good.

Bowe in shape and in his prime was a truly unbelievable fighter. Possibly - top 5 in a H2H sense, (not legacy sense!).

    Wasn't Lennox's best win against a past-prime Holyfield?

Debatable and irrelevant. Lewis fought everyone he could get in front of him, and thus proved himself against a wide variety of styles and talents. Bowe needed to control the narrative to win.

Bowe was difficult to discourage in the ring.

There are worse performances than this one. Ruiz's sham win against Andrej Golota comes to my mind as I write this.
