bowe was a big guy who had to stop and take a rest after an exchange after exerting himself thats how holyfeild kept geting back into the fight. thats what made the bowe-holyfeild series exciting: the big guy kept alowing the little guy back into it. only Dempsey would be the little guy who took over.

    Bowe in 4 rounds

Nearly 50 lb advantage in weight, 4 inch in weight and 4 inch reach advantage. Both liked to rough it up and Dempsey was master of infighting. But Bowe is just too strong, he would wear down Dempsey and hurt him with uppercuts, which are antidote for bob and weave style. Prime Dempsey could hurt Bowe but past prime Bowe showed how big heart he has to stay up when he fought Golota.

Dempsey has a chance to win if he fights perfect gameplan - circle, pot shot, move, jump-in and out wise infighting and body punching. I doubt that Bowe allows him to do so. Riddick's jab and reach would be a factor. Frustrated and battered Dempsey throws all he has searching for KO but Bowe uses opponents aggression to finish him in a close trade.

Bowe by late KO, but he would absorb some nasty punishment.

However, I would favour a theoretical, ripped 215lbs Dempsey to stop Bowe.

I admire your apreciation of hides ability, he could have been great had he been brought along more slowly in more competative fights before breaking into world class. It was too much of a jump in class that hide never got over the shock of getting hit by a good heavyweight. he never made the grade.

dempsey was hit by good heavyweights wearing smaller gloves. he passed the grade. there is no way he would have suffered as many knockdowns with todays gloves. jack would have hurt bowe just like hide did. dempsey would not let bowe back into the fight.

    Dempsey by KO.

It would be a very good fight for a few rounds, competitive, and fought at close range.
But Dempsey would succeed where Holyfield failed, and his speed and quickness and sheer viciousness on the inside would win it for him. He'd savage Bowe ultimately.

 Hide would get destroyed by Dempsey. So would Bowe, for that matter. Dempsey is so underrated these days it's unbelievable. He was one of the hardest hitting HWs ever and THE most aggressive and ferocious. He blew away much larger men in his own time, and would do the same to many of the larger fighters of the modern era.

Dempsey KO 5 Bowe ( KO 1 Hide, btw)

Too slow, too fat, too easy to hit, too big a target to miss. Golota proved that Bowe couldn't take it downstairs. Sharkey proved that Dempsey could get away with hitting him there. Golota was, to put it in Big Daddy's own words, "an idiot." Dempsey wasn't.

Hide over Dempsey? What are you people smoking? Jack would waste Hide in 1 round. One Dempsey left hook will have Hide doing the jiggy dance.

Bowe vs Dempsey is interesting...This battle will be fought on the inside. the big question marks are

    1. Can Dempsey get past Bowe's jab without taking too much punishment?

    2. Can Bowe take Dempsey's best stuff throughout the course of a fight?

You old school fighter supporters can really be something else...42% said Dempsey lol.

At 6 feet, 190lbs, Dempsey would get crushed by 6'5", 230lb boxer/puncher like Riddick Bowe. If he made it to round 3 it would be shocking.

As much as I like Bowe he didnt really face a puncher, lets not count the massive Cuban Gonzalez. Dempsey was a fericious wrecking maching and would've come out the stalls like a bolted horse. If Bowe manages to get through the first 6 he might be in with a chance, however I can see Dempsey catching Riddick on the whiskers at some stage and stop him in the middle rounds.
