I think it's pretty accurate here. Bowe would knock Dempsey out quickly.

He simply wasn’t that good. Recency bias is as alive, & as poisonous, as nostalgia goggles.

    “Extremely primitive”

Bowe had more skill than Dempsey? Please.

50/50 but if Dempsey has steroids and modern training, he would beat any version of Bowe.

If Dempsey has steroids and modern training, 20 pounds muscle gain he would beat 99 percent of 90s Hws.

Someone hasn't watched Dempsey / Gibbons, and Jack was a stellar infighter who could slip and roll.

Louis while excelling over Dempsey in other areas was flatfooted, and had inferior defense.

I know, but what’s he gonna do when Bowe, who is like 55lbs heavier, wraps him up? He can’t do anything, he can’t get punches off.

Jack was stellar at short range powerpunching on the inside, he bullied the 6'4-6'8 guys of similar weight advantages who actually studied the science of grappling as it was integral to the sport under the ruleset of the time. #1 Contender 6'5 230lb Fulton, #2 Contender 6ft 5 225lb Carl Morris, #4 6ft4 225lb Gunboat Smith all succumbed to KO's in under a round or two after all. Bowe could well beat Jack, but he'd always have his hands full, 60/40, if Golata could have his day twice, Dempsey probably does one better

Exactly. I don’t really have a problem with someone envisioning a Bowe victory - I think it’s plenty possible. But picking him as any kind of certainty I think is just laughable. I’d be interested to see these people put their money where their mouth is.
