Pretty obvious speculation, Bowe has his way with Joyce even the OP has Bowe. Joyce was overrated and this thread is a pretty funny read
Bowe ends it in whichever round he chooses. He’s too slick and too good for a straight ahead, concrete footed mummy like Joyce. There are levels in this sport.
Hide got knocked down half a dozen times in 6 rounds. Tubbs was a slick mobile fighter with incredible handspeed how is the slow plodding Joyce relevant to that ? Bowe was already shot by the time he fought Golota and let's be real Golota's jab and combination punching is on a different level to Joyce. Joyce is a slow plodding fighter with no defence he's tailor made for Bowe especially with Bowe's overhand right which Joyce gets caught with repeatedly see the Chisora fight.
that’s fair. my point was that bringing up failing to stop Holyfield as some point is meaningless. Survived two wars with Lewis, one and a half wars with Tyson, a war with Foreman… not exactly an easy guy to stop. Or even hurt. Before he got old anyway. And even then then, he only degraded down to above average durability.
Hide had Bowe in some real danger, first. Tubbs was shot. Bowe was a shot fighter because he struggled against lesser guys.
Hide surprised Bowe a few times with his explosive handspeed but Bowe still had him down half a dozen times in 6 rounds hence it was still a convicing win. And again how is this relevant to Joyce who is one of the slowest notable Heavyweights in history ? Hes so slow with his handspeed he looks like hes punching underwater. Tubbs wasn't shot you don't produce a performance like that being shot he was veteran a bit past his prime. But this was a learning fight for Bowe it was his first time going 10 rounds similar to Tyson/Tills, Foreman/Peralta. And again what relevance does a slick mobile fighther with very good handspeed have in relation to a slow plodding no defence Joyce ? Bowe was a shot fighter because he was already slurring his words after the 3rd Holyfield fight the Holyfield fights ruined him along with not taking care of himself outside the ring in regards to staying in shape. Bowe was grossly out of shape vs Golota in their 1st fight and then attempted to lose 50 pounds in 8 weeks and was a walking zombie in their rematch. Go watch Bowe's post fight interview after the 2nd fight vs Golota and then compare it to when he was in his prime there's a world of difference. They even mention this in HBO's Legendary Nights comparing Bowe's speech pattern. It's like how the doctors noticed the difference in Ali's speech pattern after the Shavers fight when he took too many flush punches to the head. And if you don't believe me go to 21:30 in the video for reference. This content is protected
Prime for prime? I’m going Bowe. It would be more competitive of a fight to have them fight when they were both shot but thankfully we don’t live in a timeline where that happens. Brain cell killing fight that would be.
Big Joe is not slow but he's not fast either Big Joe is slow but he is also fast Both statements are equally true Try and get your head around that Now imagine trying to get your head around that from the perspective of one of his opponents They watch him on film and assume it's going to be a cakewalk facing him because he's too slow and they'll see everything he throws coming But when they actually share a ring with him they immediately find themselves simultaneously getting hit by those ''slow'' shots and the realization that even though they're too slow to not to see coming they're also too fast for them to evade It always amuses me when so called ''hardcore'' fans belittle ''casual'' fans for their lack of knowledge and understanding of the sport when the vast majority of hardcore fans are completely unable to get their heads around the concept of slow-fast speed
