This is no longer boxing. These events are on par with a carnival freak show.

Exactly. Who will it be? Each one of these sideshows offers that possibility. It's just a matter of time.

Not that it matters much, but is this an exhibition or a real fight?

    Pretty sick either way.

It’s just going to take someone being killed I guess before this kind of stuff stops.

I used to think that Ali would never have been allowed to fight Holmes in his condition if the fight had taken place today.

    I've changed my mind.

Please could someone explain how a man with this kind of medical history is allowed anywhere close to a Boxing ring under any circumstance?

"On October 13, 2015, Odom was hospitalized after being discovered unconscious at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Crystal, Nevada. Odom visited the ranch seeking the company of Cherry Ryder and Madison Montag. Odom, who had used cocaine in the days prior to his medical emergency, suffered kidney failure and several heart attacks and 12 strokes; he became comatose and was placed on life support in a hospital in Las Vegas before regaining consciousness. He was transferred from Las Vegas to a Los Angeles hospital by medical transport. In the aftermath of the incident, Kardashian withdrew her request for a divorce; she stated that she had not reconciled with Odom, but wished to assist him in making medical decisions during his recovery."

Because it's irresponsible letting someone whose had MULTIPLE LIFE THREATENING HEAD TRAUMAS which left him COMATOSE, step in a ring to entertainment stupid assholes dumb enough to want to see these utterly pointless meaningless carnival sideshows. This man could literally die "entertaining" the morons who go see these freakshows.

It could also be seen a dickish to stop someone doing what they want to do with their life. We should attempt to talk him out of it, but if he wants to do it, he's a free grown adult man. It's not our place to tell him what to do.

No, it's not seen as ****ish preventing a man who's probably mentally impaired from brain damage to ban him from doing something that will be profoundly bad for his health and for the reputation of the sport of boxing, even though this is merely some ancillary exhibition money grab and no actual boxing, the mainstream when a tabloid celebrity and former basketball player dies, will conveniently leave out the nuance when calling for it to be banned. What? Should we allow 70 year olds with congestive heart failure get in the ring and slug it out because, well... they're free adult men!!!! Spare me.
