    Twelve rounds
The respective primes of both fighters.

Larry is amongst my top five heavyweights with Bowe circling the bottom of my top fifteen but for whatever reason I can't shake the feeling Bowe would maul Holmes this is no disrespect!

The thing is Riddick moves like a panther with power in both hands and has a war proven chin a relentless pace a swarming style to crowd larry and stamina to support his six foot five 240lbs Frame and I have a hard time seeing Larry win this fight when I peer over old fights to see him struggle with relatively lesser men.

Can someone tear down the mythos of
"Prime Bowe" spiraling in my dreary mind or is this fantasy bout playing over in my thoughts unison amongst you other fellows?

Holmes for me. Bowe was too easy to hit and I think it would play out similar to Golata vs. Bowe. He was getting out jabbed and Holmes has one of the best in heavyweight history. Plus Holmes took massive shots from the likes of Shavers and still won so he's got grit too.

Holmes would pepper Bowe with one-two's. Riddick can use his jab coming forward to open the alley for his right hand.
Holmes gets off the canvas to win a close decision. His quickness and straight punching being the difference+ movement.

Holmes picks him apart. When Holy and Golota used a technical approach on Bowe he fell to pieces. Holmes is next level to those two, no disrespect.

I think 1980 Larry would just keep away from him, probably getting irritated early by Bowe's jab. Bowe would also find (to his dismay) that Larry's uppercut inside compares quite favorably with his...I just don't see Bowe getting in that much (hell, Norton had a hell of a time doing it).

A knockdown is possible...or Larry might have just treated him like Shavers I..completely perfect, consummate boxer. In the final rounds Bowe is starting to get that ugly, puffed up mask that Larry was so good at bringing out.

I don't know about a stoppage...Larry didn't hit as hard as Lewis, and even Lewis couldn't really stop Bowe (those shots LL hit him with were pretty damn badass...yet Bowe was dancing and waving his hands when the ref called it off).

Unanimous decision...Larry was the next level of fighter over Bowe, as a very astute member mentioned earlier. Larry at his peak was even better than even a prime Holyfield (OT, bu I am seeing more and more what a badass fighter Holy was in his day.)

Watch the Leroy Jones fight to see what Holmes did with cute boxers. Jones was absolutely NOT Bowe, but had a fine jab and combinations, and did far better than most thought he would beforehand. Larry made him a mess, and Bowe would have looked just as bad (though I don't see Larry stopping RB).

This is honestly one of the best heavyweight matchups I have seen proposed in a while. I see this as a back and forth battle with Larry coming out on top with UD.

Bowe didn't have that long of a prime but he was a helluva fighter. One of the last heavyweights that could truly fight on the inside.

Holmes was a level above Bowe but I think Bowes chin is good enough to make it go to the scorecards. Holmes ud

I would not say a level. But Larry was a little bit better at every thing bows did except for infighting.

I think Bowe took too many risks, he was never big on defense, and he'd be eating jabs and straights from the Assassin all night. What makes Riddick dangerous is he's a big man who can fight on the inside, plus he had Futch as his mentor who would know Larry inside out. But Holmes could hold him back with those legendary jabs. I don't think Larry would win, but I'd be in his corner. Sorry Bowe.

Bowe has a good chance, he was a beast in his prime. He'd be a tough opponent for Larry. I don't know who'd win. I'd want Holmes to win, but hey if the guy that built Holmes is working Bowe's corner that's a hell of an advantage.

Bows only advantage here in infighting. Holmes wouldn't let that happen. Golota out jabbed Bowe over long stretches. Granted it was a shop worn Bowe but you get my point.
Im actually one of the bigger Bowe fans here but he cant handle Holmes. That jab of Holmes takes him apart. Then he starts with the 1-2's and that vicious uppercut when Bowe tries to make it inside. Holmes UD.

You shouldn't really use the Golota fights as an example of Bowes incompetence he was not the same man who became champion and not once did Bowe "fall apart" against Evander...
