Well heres the story..........I used to train at Cappiellos gym in Brockton, But I switched full time this week to Petronellis gym in brockton, because I get far more individual attention there and my new trainer Skip Jones is great. Well guess what guys....Riddick Bowe trains in my gym! yep, Bowe and kevin mcbride both train at petronellis gym under goody's tuteledge. It was an honor today training alongside riddick bowe. The guy is very classy. He could have minded his own business he didnt need to talk to a young amatuer like me. Yet he noticed I was doing something wrong for my footwork, and came up to me and helped me out. Bowe is the man, and i dont care what anyone says he is moving up on my heavyweight list. He is in his 40s, but hes making a comeback trying to regain the title like foreman did at 45. I think bowe can do it! He still has enough left to win like foreman did. This is going to be great training the whole summer alongside bowe and mcbride.

I know him helping you out is nice and all, but don't let his generous gesture cloud your vision. An ice cube has a better chance in hell than Bowe does against the top heavyweights. I remember watching his last fight on television a few years ago and an absolute journeyman was landing shots at will on Bowe. I doubt a commission would even allow someone like him to fight.

SuzieQ49, I'm glad to hear you say he looks good working out. I remember seeing clips of his training for his last fight and thinking,"man I hope he's just going through the motions for the camera, because he'll be in trouble if that's how he's really training." I guess that is how he was really training.

I wish Bowe would hang them up if he has some sort of brain damage. If he is going to fight, it would be good to know he's actually trying to get in shape.

    Cool story, Suzie.

I do wish what is best for Bowe, and that would seem to be for him not fight anymore.

 Deary me, Bowe would get wrecked by any top30 HW now, hes brain damaged, shot to pieces and way out of shape (actually how much do you reckon he weighs?). Plus he doesnt have the massive power and strength of Foreman (who fluked the championship himself if were honest)

If you like the guy tell him to hang them up. He cant defend himself anymore and hes just going to get hurt and get more brain damaged than he already is.

Seriously don't be ass licker, make him see sense and hang em up

Bowe is only fighting because he is broke and cannot find decent work. His reflexes are shot to heck. His mind is dull, and his speech is slurred. Bowe’s he is going to KO'd if he faces a top ten fighter. If health was an issue for Bowe, he would retire. Bowes chances of winning back a title are close to zero. Some nations ( Sweden ) have banned him because he cannot even pass a physical.

Even Bowe's old manager, Rock Newman does not want to set fights up for Bowe anymore.

Having said that, Bowe was trained by the legendary E. Futch. There must be some pearls of wisdom to be learned in the gym.

McBride is a huge man, but very slow. Nothing more than a good journeyman, but he does belong in boxing because he is still healthy.

Keep punching SuzieQ, and don't spar to close to a double end bag!

I understand where you're coming from, but maybe you should try being a little more objective?

Ah, the hell with it...I would probably be the same. Nice story.

I see you've improved your criteria on making a spot in the list :) God forbid you ever share a gym with the Klitschko's!

I admire you for understanding what he said without the aid of subtitles, though.

Agree with Z for once EXCEPT Bowe could make money other ways. Training young fighters, going on a celebrity tour like Tyson is (and making shitloads doing it), write a biography, do a reality TV show. Bottom line he needs to hang em up.

"Why do you have Bowe above Lewis on your HW list?"

"...he helped me with my footwork one time."

Bowe vs Tyson would be a promotable exhibition fight. Even Bowe vs Foreman, Holmes or Lewis would all be interesting to watch and easy to promote if they were exhibition fights or sparring sessions, i think that they would be well worth watching.

I think its nice that Suzie had a good experience meeting the former champion. However, he has drastically changed his view of the man soley based on a pleasant encounter. Before, Suzie made comments such as " Bowe was outboxed by a washed up Tubbs, " or " He got hammered by a B level Andrew Golata. " Now his position is " Bowe is the man, and I don't care what anyone says, he's moving up on my list. " While I agree that character has great value, we should not allow our opinions to be swayed by personal feelings as opposed to solid criteria......

That said, it was a nice story Suzie.. Thank you for sharing.
