Riddick Bowe's Power - Top 20 All Time?

I think people are really underrating this guy's power. Like I said a good over hand right from Riddick could knock guy's out. He has a good number of one punch knockouts.

No. Absolutely not. Despite all of these things, they still had virtually nothing in common.. You're comparing an all time great fighter to a journeyman..... I saw plenty of Martin and Toney's fights live Russell. Boxrec is not going to help you in drawing a comparison here. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

So you don't feel that if you made Toney 1/100th the fighter he is that comparisons then wouldn't be relative?

Because that's all I meant by the poor mans comparison.

I see the point that you're trying to make Russell, but saying stuff like " They were both middleweights who went the distance with top heavyweights" though sounding similar in nature, is still just circumstantial. Their styles were nothing alike, and needless to say they were in a totally different league from one another.

....Also, Everett had hair on his back.....

Eh, watching Bowe against Martin the similarities were there enough to make a vague comparison, which is all I was aiming for.

Especially when Martin was slipping tons of punches with his back to the ropes. This portly middleweight/super middle at 200 something pounds in there against a superheavy...

Riddick Bowe did not have punch power to be considered one of the top 20 of all-time. Sorry, but there's not much else to say. He hit hard sure, but 32 KOs in 44 wins is almost exactly the same KO ratio as Joe Calzaghe.

Would you honestly put Bowe in that top 20? I think Nigel Benn hit harder p4p than Bowe, and Benn is #91!!

Well Evander Holyfield did admit in his most recent book that Bowe was the hardest man to ever hit him, and that says a lot considering all of the hard punchers Holyfield has been in the ring with.
