    Seriously?

Anyways in my short but illustrious prediction posting on ESB I'm 0-1 courtesy of a Shane Mosley showing up that blew my mind!!

Actually I was almost on the money with that one. Way back in the fall of '07, when Calzeghe called Pavlik out the first time, I said "Joe Calzaghe will never fight Kelly Pavlik." I did not predict that Calzaghe would continue to call KP out for another 6 months, and then run like a little ***** when Pavlik said yes, but at least I was half right!

ones I got wrong that spring to mind:

    # AM TKO12 against Sugar Shane
    # ODLH UD against PBF
    # Lennox Lewis KO against Rahman (fisrt fight).

    I`m sure there`s more once I remember.

I take your point. It's really only in retrospect that picking Miranda over Pavlik seems "ridiculous." KP was still very much under the radar at the time. The advantage I had was that I knew enough about him to know that at 160 a brawler/bully type fighter was kind find himself in a world of **** against KP.

Yes sir, you are correct. Back at that time Miranda was on a war path and like 90+% of ESB picked Miranda to cream Pavlik. I too had been watching W. Gibbs, and that blow out was wicked, not to mention Eastman and Green. I was a little worried for Pav myself but held firm. My pick was KO 8, turned out to be 7 though.:D

Pav/Miranda was an obvious set up by HBO to set the deck for Miranda vs. Taylor. Remember back then Miranda would send Press releases all the time basically calling Taylor a ***** and stuff. Then HBO does a 15 min documentary of Miranda's story, then was like "oh yeah, and Kelly Pavlik is here too". lol.

I can just about remember who the few Pav fans were at the time too. I don't think Hermit was around on here yet, but it was JETSKI, Boo, me, and that Realizm dude. Atleast we were about the only ones to speak out.

People made a lot of mistakes about KP back then. Most assumed that KP stopping McKart meant that McKart was shot to ****. I think he is now, but that was not the case in July of '06. People did not consider the win over Zuniga to be important, but I had seen zuniga a few times, and knew that he is no joke. I would also estimate that the version of Eastman that Miranda fought would make about 5 rounds with Pav.

Having seen Green/Linton I never never rated Green very highly. Never thought Gibbs was anything special. So, in my opinion at the time, Miranda's biggest accomplishment was a loss to AA. I also knew that Miranda would try to go toe to toe with Pav, and that is just ******ed!

Margarito over Mosley. I thought Margarito would win a close UD.

But i did say if Mosley can stick to Nazim's gameplan throughout the fight, it will look like Hopkins vs Pavlik.
