I heard a rumor that legends Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns are going to fight on April 17, 2010.. I know it sounds ridiculous and it should not happen, but is this just a rumor?

Hearns is still very serious about a rematch with Leonard to this day. Hearns would take it for sure, but its impossible to imagine Leonard taking it.

I hope not. What would it prove? I don't think Jones and Trinidad should be fighting anymore, and Hearns and Leonard are from more than a decade before them. Tommy is my favorite fighter, but this fight would not be needed at all. I hope both these great fighters stay retired. It is probably just a rumor. I don't even know if the boxing commission would let them fight. Hearns is 51 and Leonard is 53.

I'd rather see this than Mayweather vs. Campbell.

Leonard did, and as far as I know (outside of this?), Hearns wasn't actively looking to fight anyone.

i do somehow recall leonard saying hearns wanted to fight him again and he said "we're old men.. why?" and hearns said "don't worry, we'll just throw body shots"
No clue if they would be dumb enough to try it... but whatever.

Well... Hearns has always wanted the rematch..

They should make it the co-main event to Hopkins vs RJJ. They can call the event "Return of Dinosaurs"

I agree almost but what would a win by Hearns or Leonard mean at this point? Just that one of them aged quicker than the other. It would be an insignificant bout. Would mean nothing. I hope boxing is in better shape than to put Hearns and Leonard in the ring again against each other. Why not have Frazier/Foreman on the undercard..

compared to Hearns and Leonard, Hopkins and Jones are prime fighters.
