Put your Finger in line with your nose, about a foot away. Line it up with something 10ft away both eyes open. Now close your less dominant eye see where the finger is. Now open again then shutt the dominant eye, what happens next is why theres a problem .

So say your dominant eye is your left, would that mean you fight orthodox or southpaw? Also do you think it is possible to have an equal balance or switch your dominant eye to the other through practice?

I'm a right handed south paw and the power of my jab and my left my back hand and my lead hook increased when i switched. My balance was much better as well. If it feels good, do it.

Lefty, its complicated, but to a degree you can help it. But what you will find is you become Front Foot reliant, plus anything coming from the less dominant side is hard to judge or see.

Spot on scrap. I was a rh southpaw back in the day, and was far to reliant on my front foot... still am when I train to be honest.

The thing now Bodi, its understood more those sort of things I think . Youre clued up I know. I give them there own Choice, then prepare with techniques of Feel. Heres one little one I know you have the gear. " 41inch Bands both opposite shoulder to foot both, from Shadow Boxing with them round the shoulders you get the perfect Feel. You realise the minute you are off centre. :good

Tldr; Train orthodox to give yourself options.

box orthodox. I did for years and it developed my left to the point where now it feels more natural to throw my left than my right and it is just as strong as my right.

However soon i'll be joining my uni boxing team and i have recently been getting the southpaw footwork down in sparring and have got used to switching so i'm glad that i spent a few years in orthodox because now i can use both on the outside however when i infight i switch in and try to always be in orthodox on the inside it's just easier that way.
