Does anyone know who pioneered this combination? Was it Iron Mike or someone before him? I know that Morrison used it quite a bit and Lewis used it vs Mercer but they were definitely copying Tyson (and copying it really well to be fair)

Did anyone in other weight classes use this combination?

Most ATG'S have used that combo at some point in there career's.
For Tyson it was his bread and butter. To the point of predictability.
Which against a great counterpuncher (If he had faced one) could of cost him dearly.

Even Bert Cooper and Riddick Bowe copied him.
Lewis also used it against Morrison, Dixon and Holyfield (adding a left hook and a right hand).

Yes. I don't recall seeing any pre-Tyson heavyweights use this combination. I might have missed it if someone did. So its pretty clear Tyson pioneered it, at least at heavyweight. And every late 80's and 90's heavyweight looked up to Tyson, whether they admitted it or not.
