No way flea...I wouldnt wish that on our little mate Greg. Mr Franklin was in to many life shortening wars.
ive had 9 fights thanks that made heaps of sense no one has actually ever pointe dthat out :good thanks thanks pal, Ken aint a patch on me :good glad to see he values me
Least you'd be fondly remembered! Anyways, you said you didn't wanna turn pro whereas I was imploring you to do so as you'd have more rounds to use your tricks. as I say in 3 rnds you just gotta do what you gotta do. You're a man who favours subtleties.
i want to go pro when im older but i need to mature and all that. get abit of a following etc.. in sparring the other day i was sparring my mate whos a great boxer and abit older than me and we did 3 minutes round and i was the one forcing the pace etc.. by the 2nd he was knackered and i was just warming up.
GP, before I got an idea as to your age, I was reading your posts thinking you were a much older, long, long time boxing guy, as knowledgeable as you are..it's quite impressive, as I compare myself to you when I was your age, I was nowhere near as savvy about boxing history, fighting styles, the great fighters, etc., as for your fight, on this thread, I enjoyed it, and trying not to come off as a great boxing sage, you'll get enough advice from keener boxing heads than me, but if there's one example that I would encourage any young fighter to follow, it would be that of one of the most studious great fighters ever, namely Tommy Loughran, who would stand before the mirror in his home and endlessly practice the jab...over and over..till he developed it to concert pitch...and he would use the mirror for practicing and developing other techniques and tricks...and I know you'll know what to do. Just like someone said earlier, just listen to your trainer and take advantage of your long reach.
I read Ken Buchanan's name...I forgot, of all examples to cite...one of my 5 personal favorite fighters...yes GP, you could be the second coming of Buchanan...
thanks RC i got a long way to becoming as good as Buchanan i thought id tell you guys i have been working on being more of a boxer puncher in training as my coaches have always said thats where im most effective when i use my long arms and generate power
pater how did you put your fight on here .i dont know how you did so would be grateful if you could let me know
You've gotten some great advice on here Greg. I especially think Lefthook's advice about not backing up in a straight line, using lateral movement and mastering the simple stuff was right on the money. Also, I will echo what your trainers have been telling you, about getting more power on your punches. Watching that clip, I was thinking, Hey this kid's got a lot of natural ability. He's smart and slick and his style is already pretty fluid. But truth is I kept waiting for you to lay one on his chin that would give him real pause. Once you figure out how to bring your punches up from the floor, all power comes from the floor, and use your body to its greatest potential while also building strength and perfecting technique, I honestly think you could be very good.
said the guy who beieved and still believes carpentier would have eek tarver and gives yaqui lopez a good chance against qawi
Dont you bloody dare! I could go on all day about the bull**** you've posted on here. So could fleaman no doubt so I'd leave it there.
