Why do people act like Oscar is just some walkthrough? They love to prop up Cotto's win over Mosley but tear down PBF's win over Oscar in a higher weightclass.:deal

this is by far the best point....i dont understand that logic either ...i mean i rate both on the same playin field with floyd being higher cus he succumbed to alllllllllll of Oscvar's demands and still won.

I agree. But don't expect a response because there's no way to spin it.

Right now I make Mayweather the slight favorite.

I guess I'd make him around a -160 to -180 if I were an oddsmaker.

If the fight takes place after Margo-Cotto and DLH-Mayweather 2 then I believe Cotto will KO him. Mayweather is the superior boxer but has been far too preoccupied with ProWrestling appearances and rediculous rematches with an old, part-time DLH to be sharp enough to take down someone as powerful and relentless as Cotto.
It looks as though Floyd may only fight once in 2008 while Miguel is not only staying active but taking tough matches in doing so. I understand that Gomez was a walk-over but aside from that he has beaten a string of top fighters in Malignaggi, Quintana, Judah, and Mosley and seems very focused on becoming the top WW in the world.
Mayweather also beat Judah in less impressive fashion, and fought well against Hatton but his fight with DLH was a pointless bore that no one is interested in seeing again. He is bound to be rusty fighting what will no doubt amount to a long sparring session with DLH and then waiting until 2009 before finally giving a title shot to a deserving contender. He is relying on his amazing talent alone to get him the W lately but it won't be enough against Cotto. He will be KO'd and either come back with passion and win a rematch or say **** it and go out Hamed style. A shame that the most talented fighter of this decade is wasting his best years on bull****.

Mayweather is a different kind of puncher then Judah or Mosley. Floyd does most of his damage and scores most of his knockouts with shots the guy never sees coming. punch for punch I dont think that anyone would disagree that they are both bigger punchers then Floyd.

I think that the best example I can give you is Tszyu vs Hatton and Floyd vs Hatton. KT is a bigger puncher then Floyd but his shots didnt have any effect on Hatton and Floyd hurt him alot and knocked him out. Reason is Floyd hits you with shots you dont see. :good

Cotto would stop throwing to Floyds body after a few rounds. Its the counterpunching that will cause this. Just as Oscar stopped jabbing. And Hatton almost stopped throwing shots all together.

Cotto is a measured fighter, i think that people confuse him for being a pressure fighter and he isnt.

For me I am 100% certain that this fight goes the distance, and that is the only surefire bet out there imo. PBF is a defensive master with an iron chin so he doesn't get t/ko'd and Cotto is a VERY large and strong WW with a skillset way above Hattons in applying effective pressure so he doesn't get t/ko'd (plus Floyd doesn't have the power to do it to him). This fight will come down a close decision and I see Cotto getting the nod for being the aggressor and also being more active

Honestly Castillo is a more proven and was the best pressure fighter in the game for years...his current decline is the only reason Cotto gets that distinction. There are differneces between these two that you guys are forgetting.

Castillo had one of the best chins in boxing for years and Cotto just has a decent one.

Castillo is 5'8" and has a longer reach than Cotto and threw a wider variety of punches. Cotto is faster but he was in no way more accurate than Castillo who mixed in both offense and defense better.

When has Castillo ever been gased in a fight.....while Cotto has shown fatigue in most of his big fights.

For pressure to work you have to have a great chin, and stamina and Cotto doesnt have either.

Im not sure about Mayweather's chin, it is hardluy been tested but when he has been hit hard it does look to hurt him, Corley looked to hurt him, even Hatton had him slightly hurt of a jab, if Cotto would fully connect with Mayweather I think Mayweather would go down, but Mayweather's defense is so tight could be a tall order, and even if you get in close to Mayweather's defense he can rough you up but Cotto is seriously improving all areas of his game.

Id go with Mayweather as of right now but Cotto is gaining experience along with his vastly improving skills.

I think that you need to watch that round again because it was clear PBF was triped and the jab never landed. :patsch

I think that cotto should come out fighting southpaw, so he can catch PBF with that same right hook Corley caught him with.
