Right now, Cotto is operating more effectively @ 147 then Mayweather is. WHat happens all too often is, fans think their fave will fight the same way till he retires. Mayweather is NOT the same fighter who looked like an instant ATG @ 130. Potshotting and would rather win close but careful rather then leave it on the line.

Cotto's throwing probably around 70-80 punches a round. Effective and hard punches no less. Floyd will not beat Cotto landing around 10 punches a round.

Cotto has been developing remarkably with every fight, whereas conversely, Floyd has been pot shotting since Baldomir. The more experience Cotto gains against boxers like Mosley and punchers like Margarito the harder it is for Floyd to beat him.

did you guys notice that the poll is split 50/50 none of us know what will actually happen in this fight. But if cotto destroys Margarito ( a big if ) then Cotto has to be the favorite because he will evidently be way to strong for PBF at 147 and in my oppinion has the skills to pay the bills.

Its not a matter of being strong enough to beat PBF; DLH has plenty of strength over him. Its a matter of having enough boxing skill, combined with technical pressure, combined with stamina imo

Cotto on points. Floyd is too slick to get KO'ed. But that's all he can do - avoid KO.

Floyd was abusing a lot of fighters when he wanted a fight: Gatti, Judah, Hatton... I don't mean he would get Cotto fight already if he wanted, but he certainly would have abused him if he wanted. Maybe he just wants easier fights first. Maybe he sees smth in Cotto. But Cotto is very good, and Floyd is 31 y/o already.

I still give a pre-Margo Cotto a good chance at beating Mayweather though I would have gave Floyd the slight edge.

I think floyd wins and i think he wins convincingly, im not saying cotto wouldnt have his moments as he would.

Still lets see what cotto is like in his next fight so we can gauge how much damage has been done to him mentaly :hey

Floyd wins this but i still think Cotto would give him a harder fight than Marg would IMO.

That would be an AWESOME fight to watch. I would hope Cotto wins (he sure can), but i have a feeling PBF would get the win and further reck my nerves :fire

Cotto losing to Margarito means little in a matchup against Floyd, however, I pick Floyd by close but clear decision
