OK, I totally disagree then and if (which in all likelihood will be the case) Rigondeaux doesn't become as great a fighter as LaMotta, it will have nothing to do with him being less skilled.

I pretty much answered the question, Rigondeaux has other things going for him that makes it a more attractive match up than Walters, they never said we'll exclusively fight featherweight beltholders and AFAIK have talked about a Rigondeaux matchup before.

Walters can just win another title and the match between him and Loma is live again, I don't see a problem.

I will be studying up more for my actual pick, and will probably bet on this fight as it will probably have good odds so its worth studying, but just going off of right now, I will unfortunately be going with Loma by UD, though a stoppage wouldn't surprise me.

I will be rooting for Rigo though

In terms of skill/technique, I think amateur boxers carry over well into pros (with some exceptions). The thing is that there's more dimensions to the pro game due to the nature of the open ended judging and power/stamina coming more into play as well, which is why not all great amateur boxers make great pros, amateurs is pretty much a technical contest whereas the pros have much more to it than that.

    I'll concede some other comments.

Why didn't he give an offer to Walters is all I'm asking?

Because his reasoning went on to prove that Loma is a hypocrite in that regard. He cited not wanting Walters because he only wants unifications and Walters no longer has his belt... Which belt does Rigo hold at 126? When has he ever competed at 126? Why in the world would you call him out based on all your public statements from just a couple weeks ago?

He's complaining about weight, Walters being 127 in one of his fights thus not being a fair match, yet refused to accept Rigo's counter offer of 124... Just playing devil's advocate and trying to point something out that normally would make at least 70% of the forum go crazy and create mad hate threads about Lomachenko's "diva acts" and "double standards" and "super ducking."

I'd love to hear some actual defense of the hypocrisy here. (Hey, I'm not surprised or mad. I judge by what happens, not what is said or wanted or should happen, but by what actually happens... But for the lot of you, I'm surprised by the not so subtle change in thought from your norms.)

Honestly Cafe I don't mean to be bustin' your ba!!s or anything. Legit discussion on my end. Hope you don't get bitter and stalk me after this (as many other posters on here have been doing of late)! As with most debates, I certainly agree to varrying extents with everything you say... We will see. Hopefully this fight gets made.

I can see the future. You'll rewatch the loma vs russel, you will change your mind and put your money on rigo. I have no doubt that rigo is going to beat him. But, ofc, i repeat im biased.

Why would the Russell fight change someone's mind on the fight? That was a great performance.

    Word...

You won't see me apologize to MVC or Hans but when it's a respectable or quality poster I just don't want that lingering bit of "hey, fvck you, man!" to follow around. It tends to sometimes.

That was NOT a great performance. He gained his points bullying, got timed easily, russell's right cross connected once and again and again and he had no clue at all about how to deal with it, he couldnt solve half of the easy problems russell put on the table. The reality is that southpaw vs southpaw lomachenko is half as good as he usually is, or even less.

Edit: and he didnt adjust in the whole fight.

Really? I honestly can't say I saw anything like that, he was making Russell miss a ridiculous amount of punches and outboxed him completely. I just totally disagree, sorry man.

Miss? no, sir, block. That's different, and requieres a totally different level of skill, he just turtled and russells lack of intelligence did the rest. Russell jr is worse than lomachenko, but he is not fighting russell again. You all will rewatch the russell fight, i know, just look at if loma can solve the problems russell puts on the table. He just cant, the only thing he figured out was bullying him, and it worked.
