Update: Seen that Rigo will fight in February and is promised a June clash with Donaire. Might just want the tuneup since he has been out for a while?

I've Manila Standard that Donaire said if Rigo was willing to move from February to March the fight could happen but Rigo said no.

    Edit: wrong source

Rigo said no, per Donaire. Is this thread like Kid Cubano suggesting that Donaire "insisted" OSDT?

I don't really understand the interest here for this (likely) one-sided fight. Mares is so much better.

you see Hermit, you are hurting your credibility when you just quote what Donaire says via telephone from Manila...have you heard Rigo's camp refusing?

Rigo doesn't have the beard required to challenge Donaire, unfortunately.

Hermit has about as much credibility as Donaire has willingness to fight Guillermo, in other words, none.

What a disgrace, Rigo knows he has that glass.... and it's better for people to see him as a god that donaire is avoiding to boost his image... but he knows once he steps up, first big hand donaite lands and ITS lights out, forever damaging his image.

Exactly.... not only that, Donaire is the bigger man, also with Reach, and Height, first big hand that lands.... LIGHTS out.

We all want this fight because we put Mares-Rig in the same sorta class mentally speaking. So if he beats Rig, then there's no real need to face Mares as we know Mares will get humiliated in a similar way Rig was.

We know going into fights with Mares and Rig anyways that Donaire will be victorious, but it's just good for legacy that's all.

Donaire is not going to get a fight with Mares because of Bob Arum.

Donaire should move up and establish himself in the higher weights now whilst he is still in his prime.

Donaire-Ponce De Leon 2013 yes please.
