Rigo getting 750 000 for nonitos fight

    Guillermo Rigondeaux no quiere hacerse ilusiones, todavía, pero siente que ahora está más cerca que nunca de su enfrentamiento contra Nonito Donaire.

    Luego de intensas negociaciones con Top Rank, el campeón cubano de las 122 libras ya tiene en sus manos el contrato que le pagará $750,000 por medirse al peligroso titular filipino el 13 de abril en una cartelera de la cadena HBO programada para la ciudad de Nueva York.

    “Ahora sí me parece que la cosa va en serio’’, afirmó Rigondeaux (11-0, 8 KO). “No ha sido fácil y ha costado mucho, pero Top Rank quiere hacer este combate, que es el que también piden los aficionados y el que debe celebrarse entre dos campeones de la división. No dejo de respetar a Nonito y su boxeo, pero eso no quiere decir que no deje de pensar en partirle la cara ese día de abril’’.


    Rigo has already a contract which pays him 750 K for a Nonitos fight.
    Just waiting for Donaire to speak out.

    Good for rigo,now hopefully nonito doesn't come up with more excuses he's agreed to all of his terms.

    If you read the article on the ring's website you'll see it's not Donaire that is avoiding anything- he gave his manager a list of 4 names he wants to fight this year with Rigondeaux name on there (along with Mares, Darchinyan and Chris John) to make this year- he wants to fight 4 times- but promotional reasons are screwing him up.

    He wants to fight Rigondeaux then Mares but GBP aren't allowing for a realistic timeframe for the Mares fight after April 13th.
