    can you remind who the poster was that always came on this website and said that Hyde (rigos Manager) was a scum bag. The same guy who said that Rigo would never get to fight Donaire because Hyde was incapable of negotiating etc...

    I remember you were neutral on the matter and agreed not to judge Hyde just yet.
    ut would be interesting to see if the other guy posts back admiting he got it wrong!
    Also looks like Hyde negotiated a great pay day for Rigo. I think when Macklin fought Sergio MArtinez he got like 300k

    Hyde negotiated this purse in September it was a condition for Rigo resigning with Top Rank


    I think the poster you were referring too was Stevenson#1 who i think has since had a change of heart....

    When Rigo was stuck in that crossroad of fights between managers and promoters many of his fans - including myself-were unhappy with those involved in that situation.
    But I always appreciated the fact that Hyde put him at the doors of a title after 7 fights and that's why I didn't rush to judge the Irishman .We know now that Hyde has been doing a good job.
    Rigo is a very nice guy and some people took advantage of him, he was signing whatever was in front of him, got into some trouble for that.
    Today he understand better what the game is about, it's a shame he's not 5 yrs younger.

    I am glad your boy is getting his shot.
    It is not the end of the world if he loses to Donaire either becuase if that were to happen - than all of sudden other 122 fighers would stop ducking Rigo. and there would be more opportunity.

    However if he wins than even more people will duck him but surely his stock would go up by being king of the division.

    That's the reports though I haven't seen anything official. #3 Mares turned down $1 mill so they offered #2 Rigo $750K. People think Nonito is ducking #3? :rofl

    Be that as it may, he is still ranked #2 in the division and was over Nonito before Donaire's last win.
