How a titleholder NOT get shots at an elite fighter? Fighter don't want the belt? Or they just dont want to fight the titleholder for some reason? I'm gonna take the latter...

The irony is that Donaire said in his last fight he wanted to get a "majority" of the 122 belts, 3 out of 4, before moving up. Well, he's got 1 wanting to fight him. I love Donaire as a fighter, but i knew he was going to duck Rigondeaux altogether... so will any other top elite fighter who's afraid to lose

 

i know he was aiming for Mares when he mentioned a 3rd 122lb belt...... but he happens to own the WBC belt. And guess who recently announced that WBC belts cannot be unified? Sulaiman......

Probably the only way Rigo will get a fight with him, keep harassing him. And if those numbers are true for the Matheubla fight, Rigo not selling tickets is no longer a valid argument.. He can only fight whoever is willing to get in the ring with him...

I thought Donaire was talking about fighting Mares and Rigo then moving up? I say he dominates Mares and gets stopped by a Rigondeaux bodyshot.

 

well...at the very least, mares has stated he wants to face rigondeaux. at least he has balls. i'd like to see donaire face a real test before he moves up. arce isn't going to test him. neither is the japanese dude.

if donaire continues on his path of least resistance....he's going to shine. if he chooses to take on real opposition (rigondeaux, mares, agbeko, moreno) he's going to lose.

 

The pressure is heating up Rigo is like a nightmare first confronting him in Vegas and now with the latest news of chasing him into the featherweigh division, to me Nonito is like a prey knowing he's been chased.
