Probably why he declined the March date. I don't blame him if he feels he needs another fight to be ready but people on here need to be honest about that instead of this "Norigo Duckaire" crap.
Why is that still unsubstantiated rumor a matter of "needs another fight to be ready" rather than "doesn't want to be taking on Donaire with that long of a lay-off"?
They had a chance to deny the March date and didn't. They merely reiterated the February date and then said they were promised a June date. Just reading the info put out by the parties as to what makes the most sense here.
You have a mighty low standard for compelling evidence if the word of someone who's lied about Rigondeaux before + a non-response are all it takes to qualify.
We have an industry where lying is standard but it isn't hard to piece things together. They simply responded to the March date by ignoring it and saying they had a promised June date. Standard crap in the boxing industry.
The drug testing issue was the thing that was getting more press and the thing that warranted an immediate response. Donaire has already proven to be a completely non-credible source for deals offered to Rigondeaux since he blatantly lied about Rigondeaux pricing himself out once before.
I was starting to wonder why this statement took so long to get out. I even posted that. This was a very carefully worded statement for a reason. The June date might not have even been there yesterday. We don't know that. Again, they took their time to make sure they got this statement out in a very narrow fashion.
Hermit, read the article again. They mention the fight in June as was talked in past negotiations between Arum and Hyde. Nothing implies that the fight can't make in march.
See my previous post. I earlier posted I wondered why Rigo's team hadn't said anything. It seemed to take a long time to get this statement out. I understand Rigo wanting another fight because it will be a six month layoff. I don't think they would have waited this long to make the statement and not address the March date if they wanted that date. I find it hard to believe they didn't know about it since they know about the testing. You wanna claim they new about the testing but not the March date? That sounds a little far fetched to me. Possible, but far fetched.
The drug testing article got over 100 replies on the Scene and was picked up elsewhere by the Examiner and BLH for instance. The March date was not the headline of the subsequent generic "I'll fight anyone!" article nor was it picked up anywhere except by shitty boxingnews24 (with an author doubting the claim) and your own admitted troll thread.
The statement came from Hyde addressing the drug test, Team Rigo has repeatedly said their goal is fighting Donaire, Arum promised the fight in June. Nobody but Arum says if the fight happens and when. If Arum wants it in march, it's gonna be march. It's January 3,fighters just going back to the gym, lets wait and see what Rigo has to say himself about this regard. So far out of this 2 guys , one has been ready for the fight from the beginning and the other it's just considering it. We know who is who.
