If Nonito does that he will reach Pacquiao level superstar status overnight. That would be ****ing insane and he would for sure be #1 P4P in the world at that point and even Floyd wouldn't be able to dispute it. Right now he's #3 or 4.
Rigondeaux wouldn't even be one of Donaire's top 3 wins. 2013 Rigondeaux < '07 Darchinyan, '11 Montiel, '12 Nishioka
Somehow a bunch of people think Donaire isn't top 5 P4P in the world, so to those people at least, there's no way would it be possible for Rigondeaux to leapfrog into that realm. If he wasn't in my top 5 after a big win over Donaire, he'd be damn close, and without question in my top 10.
Hoping this fight goes ahead. It's been one of the fights on mine (and many people's) wish-lists for a good while now. Its not often enough that amongst 2 of the best around at the moment (p4p and skill-wise) fight each other so it should be one to really look forward to!
Experience counts. Especially at the pro level. I think Rigo and a lot of supporters are about to learn this.
This is a fight where many fans are about to learn a few things. And I won't say only Rigo's supporters. Since I've been calling it a 50-50, l don't think nothing will surprise me.
