Rigo not impressed with Donaire's performance

nothing to be impress about rigo's performance either, it seems like he is content on fighting bums while donaire's opponents this year are all champions

 

Not to be a ******* here but Rigo's last 2 fights haven't exactly been against great opponents either. Kennedy had no business being in the ring with him (and I'm a big fan of Teon's) and the Marroquin fight was about as lacking as you can get as far as entertainment value. Vazquez Jr., Mathebula and Nishioka are all better fighters than Kennedy and Marroquin and I'm neutral.

 

Honestly I really don't see where fans are coming up with Donaire being scared. In a head to head I believe Nonito defeats Rigo by a wide margin, he's speed and overall game is ahead of Rigo's and all Donaire would have to do is circle away from the left. With his speed and reflex's I see Nonito winning without much resistance, unless Rigo changes his tactics for their fight.

 

Guillermo would beat that puto Filipino!

 

Unfortunately for Rig he's got no leverage......he's definitely a polished boxer....with an incredible AM background and resume. However.....he's got a total of 11 fights under his belt as a pro...he hasn't been as active as he should be and while some of his performances were great against C and B level opposition....other performances weren't so stellar.

Nonito is doing the right thing....waiting until Rig has more to offer on the other side of the negotiation table. A fight between TWO big names would be much more beneficial than deciding to make the fight now...prematurely.

Why don't you elaborate on the quality of opposition had by Rigo?

Show us how those four are truly not that far away from Donaire's opponents.

 

I posted Rigo's opponents at the top of the post. Donaire's opponents don't have better recent resumes. In fact, I'd say Rigo has been in with tougher guys and pretty much dominated them.

To be fair to Nonito, I'm convinced he's not afraid of Rigo. Donaire is a world class fighter and clearly the best 122 lber in the world. I am convinced that he doesn't want the Rigo fight right now because he wouldn't earn enough. He got 750k to fight Nishioka. He and his management believe a Rigo fight could potentially be a 7 figure payday. It's the biggest fight that can be made(Mares would be bigger IMO but with the Cold War going on, it's probably not going to happen) I don't blame Donaire for wanting the most money for the most risk. It's just good business. No one is ducking anyone.

 

Youre an idiot if you really believe that. I find it funny that you didnt type rigo last 4 opponents resumes the way you did with donaire last 4 opponents resumes. Nishioka, Mathebula, Vasquez Jr, Narvaez are far better then rigo last 4 opponents in which is the real truth.

 

That wasn't the point I was making. Of course they are better than the last 4 of Rigo opponents...but their last 4 opponents are not better than Rigo's. So Donaire saying that Rigo needs to fight more names, doesn't hold weight with Donaire himself is fighting guys who are fighting the same or lower level competition than Rigondeaux.
