At first thought i'd say Rigo UD but Gamboa is so open when he throws Rigo has the speed and power to counter him and then finish him
    Rigo stoppage

Rigo too small and Gamboa too big for 126...it's not gonna happen.

True. Unless mandatory or for a lot of money for both. IF sonething like that ever happen I put my money on Yuri. Rigo is better boxer but I don't think he can take the pressure and power of a well trained Yuriorkis

I just think Rigo is too small for all these wishful 126 matchups.

Rigo is leagues above Gamboa (imo) but he shouldn't be at 126, period.

dont talk **** bout gamboa u ****ing coward.

he was off for 15 months and got caught by 1 shot that would of put any1 to sleep and he ate it and got right back up.

on top of that, rigo and gamboa are basicly brothers
they both grew up together and won gold medals together
and when rigo defected, gamboa is the 1 that had it planned out and had it executed.

so iam sure rigo himself would slap your bitchass for talking **** bout gamboa.
have some respect or haul ass.

and cut out all this rigo better then gamboa ****.

    they are both amazing fighters.

the diffrence is gamboa has a more fan friendly style cause he likes to make crowds go wild and looks for the highlight reel.
rigo is more calm, and doesnt care about the highlight as much.

but if gamboa wanted to he can box all day and never get caught.
but HE likes to bang, and getting caught comes with the territory.

if RIGO wanted to bang he would get caught more often also, like any boxer does.

    both are an amazing level.
rigo getting more love now cause he just got his just due by beating donaire.
gamboa is on the same level, just his career took a step back with leaving arum.
but wait till gamboa gets the fights he wants,he will shock the world the same as rigo.

and this is from me,a 100% cuban from miami were both guys are my fav fighters.

It's unbelievable how much Gamboa is underrated now that he had a bit of a layoff and got knocked down by Farenas (a very good puncher and not a bad fighter at all, certainly better than Rees imo). I think it would be an extremely close fight, big fan of both guys and I can't pick it. Same size and I favour Rigo.

I think there's a much better chance of seeing Rigo fight Gary Russel.

Russell is nowhere near ready for that, and never will be imo. Would be good for Rigo's hype with US fans though.

    Rigo is better then Gamboa.

Like it or not, boxing IQ, and overall effectiveness, is part of being evaluated as a fighter.

Gamboa likes to wade in and get dropped by fighters he shouldn't be getting dropped by but then proceeds to get into rough n tumble fights with them, and makes fights much tougher then they should be against guys his talent level should see him cruising by. One can chalk it up to him wanting to be fan friendly all they want, doesn't change that its a roadblock to his craft and a knock on his ring IQ.

Upon further reflection, its clear as day that Rigo is a superior boxer then Gamboa. And that's more to do with Rigo being great then any knock on Gamboa, who is a beast.

But really, Rigo's superiority is clear as day. In shot selection, in footwork, in ring generalship, in ring IQ, controlling the action, and defense.

    Rigo > Gamboa

Make no mistake though, Im not underrating Gamboa. He is a beast, and is elite. But Rigo is better.

    Imo
