Rigondeaux added as a sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao

Rigos a southpaw... How is that quality sparring?

 

This is bad news for Floyd. This is the perfect sparring partner for Manny.

 

I see no point in him sparring a guy who fights at 122 and is a southpaw.. the angles he'l give will surely be different to what floyd gives... He'l probably drop rigo, he's chinny lol

 

Then you don't see much.

 

What can he bring though? Seriously it won't surprise me if manny drops him.

This is really the best sparring partner Pacquiao cuold choose and anyone who knows boxing can understand why.

While no one is exactly like Mayweather no one is exactly like Rigondeux either. What makes Rigondeux a good sparring partner is that technically he's the most skilled boxer in the world surpassing even Mayweather in pure technical ability.

What makes Mayweather special is his ability to think and adapt. Rigondeux will have to change his style every few rounds to mimic this.

 

Rigondeux is supposed to frustrate Manny, that is the point. Manny is supposed to struggle to get past his defense and try to out think him.

Mayweather will not be pressuring Manny. He will not be using that come forward break him down style. Mayweather will snipe, hit and run, hold, and out think while laso frustrating Manny into hitting air.

So Rigondeux is probably the best you can find to mimic the defense and offense of Floyd.

 

I think it's a good move by them.

I think Rigondeaux would make a better job playing Mayweather than Zab Judah playing Pacquiao and like a guy said earlier, they may be using him more methodically.

 

This is bad for Team Rigo. Pac could put him to coma with headgears on. He's a small guy.

This only proves that Team Pacquiao is LOST in the woods. Why spar a SOUTHPAW in preparation for a CONVENTIONAL fighter?
