They need to match him better and say this as a Rigo hater. I want to see him lose but it ain't happening against an old Agebko. I knew after the 1st minute that Agebko had no chance of winning, so I just switched back and forth from college football. His fight was more exciting against Agekbo than against Donaire, at least he didn't run from one ringpost to the other.

Throw him in there with like Leo Santa Cruz or perhaps Frampton and he should get some viewership. Of course that will be because he is fighting a live body and the other fighter has a fan base.

Are you Donaire fan, or why such strong emotional investment on guy with 13 fights?

No I don't really like Donaire. He is fairly overrated, gifted with great power but has zero boxing IQ and the ability to make adjustments. He is at least usually entertaining to watch.

I don't like Rigo because of both his personality and his style. I think he is over-hyped too. There are stylists who I like (Hopkins as an example) but perhaps that is because I feel like BHop earned his respect the hard way. His recent fight with Murat at 50 will be more exciting than probably the next 4 or 5 Rigo fights.

The Goldenboy card was much better, there is loads of free weeks when theres not boxing they need to stop doing it on the same day it hurts them and us

word. it was a stacked showtime card. They also did not help themselves with that under card. Thats why I continue to rate Sho > HBO for simply showing more competitive and complete cards all together. HBO loves their "show case" cards.

That's the crucial number. That's an erosion of nearly 1/4 of the fans that were watching Kirkland-Tapia.

And of those 550,000, how many new fans do you think Rigo won over that said "I'd love to see this guy headline again?". He's preaching to the choir at this point- the loyal viewers he's got are already sold on seeing him fight in the future, but he's not adding new ones and currently risks losing the ones he gained from Donaire.

Rigo either doesn't grasp that he's got to make new fans to take his career to the next level, or doesn't care to.

No way was Dirrell vs Bika the 4th best fight of the night, infact i'd say number 1 in terms of end to end action, Kirkland vs Tapia was just a one sided beat down after the 2nd.

As much as i appreciate and admire Rigo's boxing skills and craft, if all boxers fought in the Pro ranks like him and Lara there would be NO PRO BOXING to watch as no tv channel would want to show it.

Unless the other boxer versus Rigo and Lara is willing to make the fight and bring it to them then THERE IS NO FIGHT, it's actually unfair on their opponents who want to entertain and engage even though that's playing into both Cubans hands.

If they want to fight like amateurs then fair enough, STAY AMATEUR but in the Pro boxing game you have to take chances and entertain the public or they won't turn up to see you fight and switch channels.

If Floyd Mayweather had been Cuban, he'd be viewed in the same way as Lara and Rigo, respected but no one would watch him or care. He just had the good fortune to be born American and be a genius at marketing his image and brand to make him popular for everything except the entertainment he brings inside the ring.

Sheeeeeeit....you mean two foreign guys with zero fanbase engaged in a one-sided sparring session...after an absolute war...on a night where Showtime had a moderately-ethnically-interesting fight....and nobody cared? Stop the presses folks!

More people would rather watch Lara and Gamboa than Boring Rigo.

I watch what i like. I couldn't care less who else is watching or what the ratings are. I enjoy watching Rigo give boxing lessons.

The good news is, it's 25K more USA viewers than Pac in China. At least nobody lost money watching Rigo.

Hes too good, if you match him with the wrong guy its a snoozer. Its all about the opponent. Just like FMJ fights this year were pretty boring, but when he is in the ring with a Cotto then its a great fight to watch.
