Rigondeaux and his potential for greatness

This talk of Rigondeaux's greatness will come to end the moment he fights Santa Cruz. I just think that Santa Cruz's style of fighting will beat Rigondeaux. Not to mention, Santa Cruz is just entering his prime years.

Top 200 doesn't qualify you for being an ATG. Top 130-150 = ATG I think
Someone like Shane Mosley would be the lowest tier of ATG.
Mosley only has De La Hoya on his resume tbh in terms of wins that are better than a win against Donaire.
Deffo greater than Mosley with the resume I have given and all other factors.

If Rigo catchweight-defeats 130lbers then he's a different level monster.

 

Not happening. Rigondeaux isn't a big guy at 122. At 5'5 he has a petite body. He isn't as solid or as muscular as Gamboa. Rigondeaux looks like he should be fighting at 118. He doesn't ad much weight after the weigh in. He looked to be at least two weight classes smaller than Donaire when they fought. Santa Cruz, Moreno, Terrazas and Agbeko would all be good scalps for him to have.

 

Terrazas didn't look so good after the Mijares fight. Not a great scalp, but a solid one. I think Rigondeaux is definitely going to be chasing Donaire after he gets the belt from Terrazas. That is the only big-time fight to be made at bantam, unless he goes up in weight and fights the monster Garcia.

 

I don't even think Arum will let him fight Terrazas. He has already stated he wants to match Donaire with Terrazas.

 

I meant when Donaire gets the belt from Terrazas (the sentence just had a dangling modifier--I think is what they are called). I already know these two are slated to fight one another, even though Donaire said he had difficulty making weight. What an ass, huh.

I'll give you Hearns, but aside from that MIDDLEWEIGHT incarnation Duran and losing to a one eyed, natural welterweight who had fought once in the five years preceding the bout and never before at 160 isn't better than Rigo's utter domination over an in-prime, P4P Elite who held a significant size advantage over him. If he were to beat Mares and Garcia, it would only establish his superiority. One is a world class fighter, and the other well on his way to becoming such. As it is, he's the legitimate and a unified champion at 122 -- he could make numerous title defenses against the contenders available to him for the next four years and he'd be an ATG by default.

Over inflated standards.
