Well ****, better bet everything you have on Rigo if thats the case...You cant go wrong on that one :rofl
it remains to be seen. I also favor gamboa, and I havent seen rigondeaux in with anyone good enough just yet although it's amazing what he's accomplished in such a short pro career, nevertheless I think it's absurd for anyone to depreciate his value based off of the vasquez jr. fight. vasquez jr. showed that he's a top guy at 122.
Rigondeux doesn't fight anything like Vazquez. The only punch Vazquez beat Donaire with was the jab and he ultimately lost the fight and got knocked down. Rigondeux is not an aggressive jab artist, he's a cautious counterpuncher.
Rigondeaux v.s. Donaire. I see this match-up many times on this forum, but are they going to fight each other next?
Gamboa gets sparked by Nonito. He's been sitting on the shelf fighting bums the past 3 years. and he gets trained by Steward? This is disaster for Team Gamboa. and I actually think Rigo is the tougher fight but will be more boring. Top Rank will probably pit Nonito vs JML, then fight Gamboa..
Rigondeaux has extensive experience fighting Euro-level legends in the Olympics. This amazing athlete won a gold medal ! Against the best European warriors in the world! He would demolish this domestic trash.
I dont think the fight proves that Nonito is a hypejob or anything like that, It proves that Vasquez Jr is a legit fighter who belings at the top. That said, I think Rigondeaux would beat Donaire, but I'm a Rigo fanboy, so my opinion on that matter might not be really objective.
Well, I started in this site with only 500, I lost 200 in Margarito-Cotto, and won in the Rigondeaux-Ramos.
You say Rigondeaux hasn't been in with anyone good enough yet, but if you consider Donaire's recent opposition good, then you have to also consider Cordoba and Ramos as good oppsoition, because they are better than Sydorenko, Montiel, Narvaez, and Vazquez Jr. And please don't pull Darchinyan out of your arse. That win isn't worth much in hindsight, as Darcyinyan seems to lose against every top level opponent he faces. At least Rigondeaux can be matched with other guys who have handspeed, and athleticism, without fear that he will lose to them. Donaire's handlers seem to be afraid of just that. Hence the reason, Rigondeaux is ducked, and shopworn, slow, face first, flat footed guys like Arce are touted as possible opponents. Also recall Donaire ducked Mares, Agbeko, and Moreno at 118, instead opting for Montiel, who was not better than any of the four boxers in the bantamweight tournament, or Moreno.
Agree he gets ****ed by the cubans, def Rigo only hope against Gamboa is catching him with something.
