there is 3 cubans based in ireland they are fighting in england on sat . they look like the real deal i have seen 2 of them fight . they are all youth world gold medalists . mike perez, luis garcia and alexi acosta . perez is a heavyweight looks a bit like tyson and looks like he has loads of power. luis garcia is probably the best he was carl frochs only sparring partner before his world title win a couple of months back .

Yeah. They are all very young, and from what I've heard, very promising. I've only seen Perez, who's definitely too muscular, I think he'd have signifcantly better speed at about 210 pounds, both hand and on foot, but he shows excellent power, good aggression, and time is on his side.

Then isn't this somewhat a cowardly move by these guys? They seek glory and sacrifice their family in return.

why do you think rigo choked his first 2 attempts? they are not coward and u must have everything in ur life to say such things... u have no idea what living in cuba is. btw, once they are in the us making good money, it's easy for them to claim their family, so at the end everyone is happy and no one is a coward.

btw, these two bisexual females on ur av are hot.

Damn! I would love to see all Cuban fighters fight wherever they want to and wherever they can earn some decent bucks!
I am very happy that Rigondeaux will soon make a lot of noise in the paid ranks. He was a great amateur-fun to watch.
I truly admired his skills at the amateurs.I very hope that he will be able to watch one of his pro fights live here in europe.
Has he already signed a contract with that infamous German based promoter Oener??

This has nothing to do with my life. I thought amateur champs like Rigo are treated like gods in Cuba? It is cowardly if you are putting your family's life in danger or making their standard of living worse because you want to be famous and make lots of money. A man of honour would sooner see their family happy than themselves.

I didnt know they can claim their family back. How does that work then? I mean its not like the Cuban government wants the money right? If that was the case they would let their boxers fight and take the money from them.

Once you're rich, it's a lot easier to make arrangements for your family to defect. Almost every Cuban athlete's family crosses over within a couple years of them defecting. Gamboa's family is back with him now, for instance.
