If he was serious enough to fight Loma, he would have had his promoter contact Top Rank which is THE way to go about getting a fight. Rigo knows this too, this twitter talk is just pandering to fans and trying to increase his own publicity.

 

He has been calling ducking Magdaleno and now he wants to fight him but according to some weirdos thats not good enough too. Loma team and Rigo team wants that match. The one who doesnt is Bob Arum. He is the only one to blame.

 

Are you that naive to expect them to cut their meal ticket that is Top Rank and publicly state that Arum is the reason fight hasnt happened yet?

 

Rigo Vs Magdaleno is a far better fight

 

Let's be honest for once on this board. Sure Rigo wanted a better payday the first go especially if he was to move up. What was done to him was stupid. He basically got shelved for being too good and destroying one of Bob's hopefuls and exposing him as basically one dimensional.

Donaire was like 2 or 3 p4p at the time and it was an easy cake walk for Rigo. That victory basically destroyed his career and he is truly the most ducked fighter.

That said. Bob has no intention making this fight just as he has no intention putting Loma in with Mickey. The only way this fight gets made is when Rigo is like 40 and he will have to move up to like 140 just for extra insurance.

Loma is already a protected fighter and he will be milked for a very long time. Bob can't afford Salido 2.0. Don't hold your breath on anything for awhile.

 

And you're a Manny fan. It doesn't matter. Truth is the truth. Bob has already said and I quote, "it's a **** fight". He doesn't want his guy exposed any further. He'll be put in with soft touches or past prime/on the decline fighters period.

The first paragraph was not the truth of the matter because Rigo agreed to the money and it was good money. He bounced because he wanted a 124lb catchweight even though Loma made it clear he will not make 124lbs and Rigo agreed to the weight. This all adds to the argument that Rigo is just using Loma's name. It was a duck.

Donaire was stylistically disadvantaged and at Super Bantam, he wasn't his ATG Flyweight self, nevertheless it was definitely a brilliant win and yup, certainly did destroy Rigo's future prospects.

Loma will be matched with Mikey. Loma was matched with Russell Jr and Nicolas Walters, both high risk, low reward fighters. I'd be really confused if Loma couldn't knock Mikey Garcia out, that fight will happen.

The problem is, they have a certain budget, and Loma's team takes such a big share and lowballs other opponents to the extent that they would forgo fighting a top name for just a 'good/ok' fighter instead. This is shameful and it's ruining Loma's prime. Loma's name isn't growing enough fighting these Sosa types. Loma must take a pay cut to make big fights, AND THEN have higher purses. It needs to be earned.

I am ultimately going to be patient but if Loma hasn't fought 3-4 elite fighters by the end of age 31, I will be so mad because I wouldn't have a convincing enough case for arguing he is a TBE level fighter (which is what I've suspected since well before he turned pro). He clearly isn't going to be a Top 100 ATG.

 

Idk. I don't think Bob wants his guy to take another L. Time will tell.
