Rigondeaux fought the most negative world championship fight I can remember watching

    It's hard for me to remember the last time I saw a fighter fight a more negative fight. He did nothing offensively and his defense consisted of entirely spoiling. He made Bernard Hopkins look like Manny Pacquiao in there.

    He bent at the waist constantly. When was the last time you saw a guy bend so far down to the canvas that he was practically putting his nose on the floor? He was bending over past a 90 degree angle. LMFAO. And he was doing this all night long. He didn't return fire when this happened? Because how the **** can you when you're bent over that far down?

    The holding was absurd. It every single time Loma got inside. It wasn't an occasional thing to get him off on the inside. It was every single time. He didn't tie up and then let go to recalibrate. He tied up and with all his strength, hugged Loma by the upper arms and starting pulling him towards himself to dry hump him as hard as possible. Yes the point deduction did take place, but it was already 3 rounds too late due to the nature of the excessive clinching. Hell, I thought a second point deduction was warranted in the 6th round because right after the point deduction, Rigo went back to doing the exact same thing.

    I also saw a blatant low blow. Rigo is an extremely accurate puncher. We all saw what happened and he knew what he was doing. He threw an uppercut right to the beltline/nut area. There was a pause in the action after that because all 3 guys, Rigo, Loma and the ref were like really, WTF??? So you're just gonna stand there and do that on National TV and be like yea, **** it, I'm just gonna go the nuts.

    Then there was the grabbing behind the head by Rigo, the punching after the bell.

    All this happened to muck up the fight and then you add that Rigo landed 2 partially blocked punches per round. He didn't land a single punch the entire fight. Not one punch landed.

    It's now my 3rd time watching this fight. 1 live and two on youtube. And I'm still stunned at how negative Rigo fought. It was absolutely unbelievable.

    Saline Jr. clinched at every possible opportunity and he also ducked way below the waist several times. But yeah, Rigo's stink job might be the highest level stink job ever in a high stakes championship fight.

    You didn't see the Wlad-Ibragimov fight. All time worst fight. Rigo was doing a Henry Armstrong
    imitation compare to those two.

    At least there was a clean KD and a big wobble in that fight regardless if the rest of the fight stunk. I agree with the TS on this one. But opinions vary.

    He landed a few shots. Loma didn't get marked up from nothing. I agree in general though, very poor showing from Rigondeaux. We were kinda teased with that first round. Looked like it was gonna be a good fight.

    I don't think he landed a clean shot the entire fight. Who says you can't get marked up from partially blocked blows? He did land one clean shot though actually. When he lunged forward from long range to land a flush low blow on National TV.

    They exchanged clean jabs a few times. And he landed a few clean body shots, as well as a nut shot or two.

    In WORLD title fights Joe Bugner v Ali and David Tua v Lewis should be in any list of poor attempts.
    In alphabet fights, Johnny Nelson "challenges" against DeLeon and Waring are very hard to forget, however much I try!

    It stunk like putrid garbage on a July day. I couldn't see a way for him to win, but I'd hoped (against my better judgement) that he'd find a more rousing effort than that in the most important fight of his life.

    It's ok, though. My realistic expectations for the fight were low, so I felt no disappointment.

    Pure boxing. Two pound for pound elites demonstrating amazing skills. You're just trying to take credit away from Loma you hater, blah, blah, blah.

    That fight was pathetic and awful. It sickens me how much the sycophants around here are praising Loma for it. I had him #1 p4p before this fight, but that **** was a travesty. I don't know what kind of mental loop de loops you have to put your brain through to congratulate a guy for dragging an old man up two weight classes like that, call it the fight of the century, say Rigo has a good chance to win, and then when things turn out like that call it an amazing performance. Rigo barely threw or landed anything, but Loma's connects were a joke too. He's got this guy who's throwing nothing and he only lands two punches in the first, seven in the third, and fifth connecting 16 percent of the total. He should have just steam rolled this guy instead of wrestling all night. **** this place sometimes, man.
